Reviews of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
"There were 3 of us at 10:30am on a Saturday. We were sat as soon as we walked in. A server got us water and coffee, then disappeared for 15 minutes. We ordered hashbrown casserole, a country boy breakfast, and pancakes. Water and coffee were not refilled until our food was served 35 minutes later. And none were refilled after that. Food came warm but not hot. Eggs were each cooked differently and neither as they were ordered. Ham was dry, toast was not toasted, biscuits were not fully cooked, and the gravy came out in a lump like jello. No butter or jelly were provided and the server never checked in on us. We had to go look for the server to get our bill. None of it was a good experience."
"Thankfully, the food is getting better again and that is a very good thing. Biscuits and gravy is still delicious. Breakfast is a good choice all day long. Try the "Country Boy" if you're truly hungry. Chicken fingers were also delicious. In general, it's worth a stop if you're truly hungry. Many offerings of diverse country cooking."
"Haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in a while, thought I'd give it a try. I had a Pot Pie and then add-on Fried Shrimp. The shrimp were small and mostly breading, but had good flavor and were ok for the price. The pot pie was meh. Not much flavor, maybe they have to cater to an older crowd that want stuff bland. The included biscuits were pretty dry, even smothered with butter. They do have a good deal where you can order a to-go meal for $5, such as Meatloaf and Mac and Cheese."
"Asked for biscuits, got cornbread (burnt). Upcharged for a loaded baked potato that I did not order or even receive. The steak was good, the shrimp was hard and stale, no cutlery was given or salt, we were told everything was in there. When we got to the motel we discovered we didn't have nothing to even eat it with. Luckily my husband rounded us up some."
"We stopped at this Cracker Barrel on our way from Ontario, Canada to Atlanta, Georgia. We'd been on the road for about 9-10 hours. This location was right beside our hotel, the Hampton Inn (which was also good). I had the Fried Chicken Dinner and it was just as expected. The chicken batter was great, the chicken was good, and the vegetables were overcooked and mushy (as expected). My husband had the meatloaf and thought it was ok but could have used some gravy. The service was good and since it was later in the evening, the place was practically empty which was good for our first post-pandemic trip. It was exactly what we needed. Not fine dining but filling and plentiful. We also bought some mugs and 4 sticks of hard candy. The candy was supposed to be 4/$1 but they charged us 35 cents for each stick, bringing it to $1.40 for four. I asked and they said it was state taxes, which seems a little high. I think they got it wrong but that speaks to the poor quality of education these days."
