"Went there for a couple getaway. Expected to paddleboat and do other things on the water. No paddle boats. The brochure is not accurate. Not at all. You take about 50 steps which are small to go down to the pier to fish. The boats at the pier are filled with spider webs and spiders. By the time you walk back up the 50 or so small steps to go back to the top, you have no breath. The cabin was clean but one of the sides of the bed was held up by a cinder block. Every time you ran the water in the kitchen a rotten smell would come up. Other than fishing, there really is nothing else to do. The picture on the brochure is not accurate at all. TV is Direct Tv and goes off and on in the middle of a movie or whatever you are watching...When we asked what do people do besides fish? The answer was "Nothing". What a disappointment. We left early. We were suppose to be there from Friday to Sunday but we left Saturday afternoon about 1pm. This place is ok for someone who want to just go sit and do nothing but not for someone who want to do something. The staff is very friendly and kind but this place was really misleading. Wasted money. All I say is truth, so I'm ready for whatever... don't be surprised if they do their own reviews"

"Spent a Saturday here fishing. It has lovely views. The staff is friendly and responsive. We ate at the restaurant before leaving for the day. We ordered a supreme pizza, and it was really good with generous toppings and a delicious crust. We would definitely go back and rent a cabin for a weekend. They are pet friendly. The area has steep hills, so be prepared to hike up and down steep stairs or hillsides."

"Great location, awesome place. Everyone from my family and friends enjoyed a lot during our stay. Some homes do not offer internet connectivity. However, we had a great fun time to enjoy it without technology."

"I called needing a pontoon boat for Fourth of July fireworks since our boat was in the shop. I was so excited they had a boat available for rental. Once I got there, I was told it have to be back at 6 PM each day, so no fireworks for us, because they were using it themselves. So we decided to take it anyway so the kids could at least tube…. Once we got to the boat, the man told us there was no transom to hook a tube rope up to. No tubing. So we decided we could load up the floating mat and just go to a cove, but the engine kept on stalling. The boat was full of spiders, and when we took the anchor out, it was a small mushroom type anchor, not nearly capable of holding the boat in place since the weather was relatively windy. we returned it immediately and we’re charged $25 for gas and a cancellation fee. We have filled our boats up there for decades, enjoyed their barbecue stand when they had it and the cobbler cones are very missed. But I would not recommend their rentals if this is what their boats and service is like in the future."

"RENTER BEWARE!. This place doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. We rented a boat for the day and it turned into a nightmare. Not only was the boat covered in spider webs, mud, dirt, etc., the lack of safety and maintenance inspection on the boat is poor. The boat horn didn’t work. They gave us an air horn and if that didn’t work, we were told to use the whistle provided. Most of the life jackets were covered in mold. There are clearly no safety inspections and if you have children this is extremely jarring. The anchor literally fell off their cheap rope and then they preceded to make us pay for it. We did not damage the rope, their rope for the anchor was just not knotted strong enough. When we spoke to the manager he was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Not sure how they are even in business. The manger said “you’ve only rented from us once before so I’m clearly not losing a good customer” . So there is no care for the customer whatsoever. He was a a sad little man trying to play boss that couldn’t even look you in the eye. At the end they had a “Karin” outside yelling have a nice day. I’m pretty sure since we spend 400 on a boat we could afford a 30 dollar anchor. It was the principle of it. The boats are old and not in good condition. We were specifically told not to tie any knots in their anchor rope…so its THEIR responsibility to make sure it was knotted properly. Yes, we signed a waiver that we would be in responsible for any damages done to the boat, but a lost anchor due to poor maintenance is not considered damage to a boat. The guy who checked us out even stated that there was no damage to the rope just a missing anchor. This company is clearly not in business for customer service/satisfaction. Rent at your own risk!"
