Murray's Tavern

"Wanted to check it because of the British/Irish pub vibe. I did spy the menu going in and saw the the fish and chips was $28! Wut? I was seeing a show up the street so went in with the price knowledge in hand. Ordered it and you see how massive it is in the photo I added. But…while the outer part of the batter was crispy and the fish was cooked inside perfectly, the inner batter was as mushy as mashed potatoes. I surgically removed the outer batter and just ate the fish and some of the fries (which were good). With tax and tip along with the one beer, it was $40. Nah. They were super packed and I sat at the bar. Service was great and beer prices were good. They’re obviously raking it in and good for them, but I’ll not go back. It’ll just be Kelly’s for me when I need a local Brit-pub fix."

"Killer fish and chips. Their sandwich wasn't bad, but didn't quite hit the same level. They need a couple killer items like their fish to really round out the menu. Atmosphere was great, service was great. Everyone says the drinks are good."

"I was very impressed with how great the service and food was for a place so newly opened. We did go at a slightly slower time, but it’s first come first serve so make sure to account for that if you plan to come. Isaac the bartender was very helpful! He introduced the menu, the drinks, and then helped us decide on the mini cocktail drinks served in a flight. Each one was well crafted and you can feel the thought put into them, and they are delicious and boozy. I didn’t get food but me and my friend are already excited to come back and try the prime rib!"

"Absolutely loved Murray's! Great cocktails, food and and atmosphere! Probably the best Cosmo I've had in Austin! Started with the ham and cheese puffs (not what I envisioned, but good (my husband loved it). I had the fish and chips (fantastic) and hubs had the tavern burger (enjoyed it). Look forward to visiting again!"

"Incredible transformation of an already beloved space. The walls are decorated with pictures, awards, and other special heirlooms from their grandparents, including the front corner affectionately dedicated as “Papa’s Corner.” We had the Brandy Alexander (pictured) and Dirty Negroni which seemed to be fan favorites all around us. Wines by the glass and bottle are available from all sustainable and organic producers. The burgers and goulash were incredible. This is an all-star bar team and it was really fun to watch them do their thing. Congratulations on a successful opening!"
