"I stopped by this store yesterday (Thursday) around 3 o’clock. There was no other person in the store when I arrived. I was browsing around around 5 or so minutes before I found a shirt I thought was worth trying on. I got a small. Now I would like to mention I am a 5’5, 135lbs Hispanic women. Im pretty active and don’t really have insecurities about my body. When I finally initiated a conversation with the middle-aged white woman there, I told her I would like to try on the top. In a condescending way she mention the top ran small and I would probably need a medium. Its not that the information she was offering wasn’t helpful, it was the tone in which she said it. I reluctantly went back to the rack to find a medium that had deodorant stains on it and I told her I was OK with just trying on the small mind you, this is a loose fitting shirt, so I didn’t think it would be a big deal. She insisted on going to the back to get a medium. She returned and said she put it in the fitting room for me. I tried on the small first and it fit me well, not tight fitted. A true small. The sizing was pretty accurate. When I exited the fitting room, she asked me how the medium worked out and I told her I was actually going with the small. She then told me, “lucky for you, it’s on sale.” at this point, I felt like I was being discriminated against. It was the way she looked at me, the way she spoke to me, and just the interaction felt very awkward and disingenuous. I got all the way to the checkout, I was at the paying point, when I told her I didn’t want it. It wasn’t about the money, it was only a $64 dollar shirt, it was more than that. It was about the service. It was about the interaction. It made me feel bad. I didn’t want to give this store my money. So I left. It bothered me so much, I went home to tell my boyfriend (a black man) about it, and he said she made him feel the same way and that’s why he doesn’t go there anymore. It’s sad because we live in upper Kirby so it’s close by but I’d rather give my money to Athletica which was actually a really impressionable experience in the best way."

"This store and the products are the absolute best! The staff at the store are unbelievably good at finding things that will work for whatever you are doing in the clothes and extremely patient. They literally have spent hours running things into the dressing room for me when I was there and always had a smile on their face. Their attitude and professionalism far exceeds their competition! The yoga pants, tops, sports bras, running shorts/skirts, and jackets are the most comfortable and durable I have ever owned. Also very good prices! I always make this store a stop when I am visiting Houston. Do not miss out. Go! You will love it! Thank you guys for doing such a great job!!!!"
