"Delicious fried chicken! Voted as one of the best fried chicken in Houston and had been approved by famous chefs like Bourdain and Zimmerman. The Himalayas fried chicken came out skinless, crispy, golden brown, and juicy. I can taste the chicken full of flavor and is well seasoned with unique herbs and spices. The orange sauce for the chicken is hot but delicious. I find their fried chicken taste way better than other common chicken fast food restaurants. It's really worth a try! The Naan bread is served hot and crispy on the side and big size. The Mutton Biryani tasted good as well. It's not overly spiced up and has enough amount of meat. The service is good. Although it took some time to wait for my food but it's worth the wait. The staff are attentive to the guests' needs. I saw the owner himself is going from table to table, making sure that everything is alright."

"Tried Himalayan fried chicken and it didn’t meet our expectations and the hype my husband gave me the last time he tried . It was little dry and less flavorful than he mentioned. We tried the chicken platter and it was good. Seek kabab can be little better. The dips and sauces are excellent. Mutton biryani was okay.. the pieces are really hard than I thought they should be. Garlic naan is good bullet naan can be little better.not enough salt I guess. Hara chicken curry is the best here. It’s has a very good flavor mix and the chicken was very very tender. For the number of reviews it has , I guess I expected more . Won’t come often but may be 1 in a 15 option."

"We stopped in Saturday Jan 6 for dinner. We had never been before but had heard good things so we wanted to try it out. We were greeted and sat immediately upon entering the restaurant. Drink order was taken promptly and delivered shortly after. We had a soda, a tea, 2 waters and a mango lassi. The mango lassi was delicious. Then we placed our food order. Our kids are small and they wanted to split an entree but we were informed that was not allowed. We had to order an entree for every person seated at the table regardless as to whether we wanted to or not. There was no chance our kids were going to eat a full entree each but again we were told we had to order 4 entrees anyway. This seemed very odd to us as from checking the prices our tab was already going to be well over $75 with what we were ordering. Just seems very strange to force guests to order food they know they can't eat and don't want. Never seen this before. Certainly didn't appreciate this tactic but we were hungry and already seated so we added another entree that we didn't want to get past the uncomfortable situation. We ordered vegetable samosas, 2 garlic naan, one plain naan, a goat biryani and a chicken tikka masala, one valoo chana masala and one green curry chicken. Have to admit the food was delicious. Everything we ordered was excellent. Food was flavorful, hot, fresh and tasty. Absolutely on point. Refills weren't timely but we did finally get them when we asked. Owner was very active, stopping by and talking to guests, some were obviously regulars. He stopped by after we paid and checked on us, we did tell him the food was excellent and that it was our first time in. He went and grabbed an order of gulab jamun for the kids to go. That was very nice and much appreciated, he certainly didn't have to do that. In summary, the food was outstanding. Really good. Service was definitely ok. Not excellent but certainly not bad. The only thing that left a bad taste in our mouth (so to speak) was the forced additional entree that we didn't want or need. Highly recommend the food, just be prepared for the 'every person who sits down has to order an entree' rule when you go. Total was $90 ish, don't remember the exact total but it was in that range."

"I was an out of town visitor and tried this place due to the acclaim it has received from various sources, some of them being the finest in the culinary world. In reading some of the other reviews here, I feel that either there is a huge disconnect with what I experienced, which was superb food, or that there is a concerted lobby from the competition to undermine the renown this restaurant rightfully deserves. Not withstanding the austere and simple but comfortable surroundings, the signature dishes I tried were every bit as appetizing and delicious and then some. The Steak Tikka, the Chicken Hara Masala, the Mutton Biryani and the Garlic Naan were very flavorful, aromatic and a gastronomic delight. But more importantly the preparation and the proprietary recipes that creates these dishes is evident in every morsel. The steak was extremely tender, the chicken amazingly delectable and the biryani just one of the best. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely return. There is a reason this place has received such great recognition, and that is because the food is prepared with personal care and is unique and savory in every way. It would be no surprise if you tried this place and walked away with a very satisfied experience, just like so many others have. The restaurant is well worth the fame and accolades it has received."
