Reviews
"Great food. Especially masala cut mirchi and baby corn manchurian. In addition to great food, this restaurant as great ambience, walls are painted with old Indian movie posters and actors. Great concept."
"Found this place through Google and was intrigued by the visual appeal and variety of items offered on the menu. First time visitors - Mom and I were really here for the pani puri chaat, but we were told that snacks and chaat are only served beginning at 5PM. Just be aware if you want snacks or chaat, you will need to return in the evening. We were greeted by Anil upon entering. He explained the menu to us and suggested what to order. He made sure to customize the order as medium-spiced. We also met Avinash who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We purchased two bottles of water as well as Irani Chai, Masala Chai, and a to-go box of Rava Laddu. The Chais were perfectly balanced in flavor and spice and not too sweet. We tried the Rava Laddu at home (our favorite dessert). It was so soft and crumbly and the taste was absolutely divine! We ordered Paneer Butter Masala (medium-spiced), Butter Naan, and Goat Ghee Roast Biryani (medium-spiced). All excellent! The flavor/spice and meat to rice ratio was more than generous - and hands down, one of the best biryanis we have ever had. The Butter Naan was perfect and served as an ideal accompaniment to the Paneer Butter Masala which was creamy and tasty. The texture of the Paneer was exceptional and I got the feeling that it was made from scratch. We also received a complimentary container of white rice and condiments (ie raita and some kind of chutney which flavor I could not identify). We were the only customers in the restaurant when they opened at 11AM, so we didn’t feel rushed to finish our meal. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out and clearly, it was made to order. All dishes tasted so fresh and were of high quality. Portions were more than enough for two people and we boxed up the remainder to take home. Service was friendly and attentive, establishment was clean, food was delicious, and atmosphere was relaxing and inviting; albeit a small space. We will definitely be returning in the future to try other menu items."
"We were in the mood for curry and happened to find Suravi's Chapter 1 on a Sunday afternoon. It's a cozy place with cool Bollywood decor. There was a breakfast buffet, but we chose Malai Kofta and Paneer Tikka Masala and Samosas for an appetizer. We were not disappointed! The food was fresh, flavorful and portions are large. Definitely recommend and will be sure to come back!"
"Great food taste is really good, we enjoyed masala cut mirchi, goat ghee roast biryani, good quantity as well"
"I cannot recommend this restaurant. Food: I ordered a “mild” biryani, but it turned out to be excessively spicy and completely inedible. I even double-checked with the person at the counter, who assured me they could customize it to be mild and even confirmed with the kitchen. However, the biryani was very very hot / spicy. When we called the restaurant to address the issue, all they could offer was a simple apology. Atmosphere: The cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. Tables and the floor were littered with food remnants, and no one attended to cleaning during the entire 30 minutes I waited to pick up my order. Service: The service was subpar. Despite confirming that the biryani would be mild, they served us an extremely super spicy biryani, and their response upon our complaint felt indifferent, as if they had already received our money and were uninterested in further assistance."
