Reviews of Sabor Venezolano Austin
"I dont usually take the time to write reviews. But I wanted to write one to make sure people that read them know what to expect. The service is great. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed. The place is clean and nicely organized. I like that they bring you the menu to your table and explain the options if you have any questions. The staff is friendly and is constantly checking on you. The food is very good and it’s definitely worth the 45 minute drive from North Austin. Suggestion: In my opinion they should display the prices on the menu. The food is a little more expensive than you would expect, but it’s definitely worth it. But I feel like displaying the prices on the menu would eliminate being surprised at the end when you are paying the ticket."
"This is one of the best food trucks in Austin for many reasons. It's located central and in a quiet place, they have a very large patio in which the atmosphere is very pleasant. Service is attentive and they help you with your order if you need any suggestions. But best of all is the food. You can order a wide variety of Venezuelan dishes that are very tasty. Highly recommended! We will come back for sure!"
"If you’re looking to try out Venezuelan Food in south Austin this is your to-go spot. The atmosphere is nice, they play Latin music that you can hear a lot in Venezuela and the location of the establishment is good despite being next to a gas station. Not too much noise around and is pretty calm. We’ve tried this place a couple of times and decided to post a review today. Food has always been fresh and served right off the kitchen. Today we tried the tequeyoyos (signature appetizer from my city, Maracaibo) and it did not disappoint. It’s basically a really thick Venezuelan cheese finger with sweet plantain inside and ham. The nestea is a Venezuelan sweet tea and it surprised me on how on point it was. Strong flavor, perfect level of sweetness and a great refreshment! This place is a little bit on the expensive side but I can understand that because Venezuelan food in Austin is really not that common. Edit Had to edit review because service is now terrible. Server I had was really rude and had an attitude the whole time. Didn’t bother to get our drinks and would tell us to “wait” because she was slow. Very disappointed."
"They didn’t speak English and the food was horrible. It’s some of the most disgusting “food” I’ve seen or eaten in a long time. In response to the reply from the owner, like I said the food was the lowest quality garbage ever. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. Just look at this nasty filth. Are you proud to charge people money for this? If your employees are incapable of speaking English they should not be working in an English speaking country."
"I want to start this review by saying Im not Venezuelan so my review may be biased We came to this place recommended by our venezuelan friend. The food was good but all of it was fried in some type of way so we felt very full after eating We ordered an arepa reina pepiada, cachapa de pernil, tequeños and mandocas. Our favourite was the cachapa de pernil and the tequeños. The arepa reina pepiada was good but the chicken tasted a bit dry, unseasoned and tasted a lot like mayo Would definitely go again for the cachapa and tequeños tho, really good The place is outside so try not to go when its too hot. There is no restroom onsight just port a potty since its a food truck"
