"I was very excited to try Zoe Tong but it fell flat of my expectations. The food was mediocre and over priced for the quality. The veggie dry pot had a nice selection of vegetables but it ended up being a little bland. The tofu I added was essentially tasteless and felt like I was eating slices of uncooked tofu. The pickles were actually gross. The service could be better and more attentive. The atmosphere is amazing and it’s very well decorated."
"Had an exceptional Saturday night dining with friends! The food, service, and drinks were superb. This restaurant is a must-try for family gatherings and friend outings. Our server, Jillian, was excellent in explaining each dish and provided outstanding hospitality. Things I got: 1.Smoked Japanese Scallops - very fresh, with a nice little kick, the goose berries and grapefruit is a great complementary addition to the scallops. The wood-ear kind brings a tingling sensation to the lip which is very refreshing 2. Scallion Swirl w/ Truffle Butter - buttery and soft with a flaky outer shell. Perfect combination with the truffle butter, it adds different level of flavor palette to the swirl 3. Veggie Dry Pot - fresh seasonal vegetable with Mala spice, brings a nice tingling sensation to your mouth with a nice kick 4. Smoked Wagyu Brisket - perfect cuts of wagyu, a combination of lean and fat, perfectly smoked then added with smoked cauliflower and green onions 5. Fried Rice - the rice was really good and nice quality combined with seasonal vegetables such as okra, lotus roots as well as Chinese sausage which adds a slight sweetness to the dish"
"Much needed new addition to Barton Springs/ Austin. High end service with fun atmosphere and incredible food. They were great at asking about dietary needs upfront. Patio is dog friendly! Coming from a not so big dessert fan… do NOT sleep on the desserts. Their scallion rolls are my new life obsession and had a lot of fun cocktails. Perfect spot for dates, cocktail night, or just fun dinner out. Also really accommodating to large group events + free parking. Big plus!"
"A new modern Chinese restaurant that is worth the hype in Austin, TX. Zoé Tong brings Chinese cuisine and local Texas ingredients together to create a unique spin on Chinese dishes with great flavors all around. From small to large plates, and spicy to non-spicy items, this is a versatile setting with an energized atmosphere, great for casual or special occasions. P.S. Don’t sleep on dessert- that soft serve! My favorites were the lamb noodles, scallion swirls, and peashoot tips. They have complimentary valet parking."
"Was excited about this opening as the two chefs come from decorated culinary backgrounds and this stretch of Barton Springs Road could really use some elevated options. While dubbed as 'Modern Chinese' it seems to be in a category all by itself, with a unique spin on both classics as well as not-so-familiar dishes. Was with a big group and ordered across the menu and have had the duck, wantons, orange chicken, fried rice, and sesame noodles, and all were absolutely amazing. The Chinese Caesar salad was truly unique with a crisped chip and a chili oil that was insane! I loved it and would go back just for that. Also, we had the pea shoots and broccoli and both were so nicely prepared. Ribs got eaten at the end of the table before I could have one but people said they were really good, same for the duck spring rolls. Drinks were fun. Lots on tap, seemed like some interesting cocktails and fun 1970's tiki themes. There's nothing else like it in Austin and the menu is big and lots more to try. Also, free valet parking!"
