Bar Peached

"I had a 1.30pm Sunday brunch at Bar Peached last weekend. There was a small wait at the hostess station at that time, but I had made a reservation on OpenTable, which did cost $25 per person to hold the table. The building is an Austin foodie institution, having been the location of the restaurant Winflo before Bar Peached took over the sprawling but compartmentalized space. There is both outdoor and indoor seating, as well as at the indoor bar. We ordered the pork buns (INCREDIBLE - with the largest piece of pork belly that I have ever seen in a pork bun), the brunch udon (noodles were perfect consistency), and the pork benedict (interesting and very large portion, but not outstanding). The duck egg rolls featured recently on Bar Peached's Instagram page are only available for dinner, which is after 5pm. Service was good, and the food came out quickly. Solid brunch spot close-ish to downtown with reasonable prices."

"I wanted to take my husband to Austin for a quick getaway and wanted to try something new. Everything we had was great! All of the food was fresh, came out crazy fast, and our server was a complete sweetheart. We came during happy hour and I left feeling completely satisfied. We tried a couple different things on the menu but I didn't take pics because we ate it too fast. I did manage to take a pic of the crab dip, yummy!"

"Loved their “Benedict” which instead of putting eggs on toasts chooses scallion pancakes as bases. Very interesting and flavorful fusion. Their Hong Kong milk toast could be a nice dessert to have after meal. Food is no doubt very good! The only little pity is the coffee which doesn’t taste as good as the regular one you can order at a cafe."
