"Menu - 10/10 Food - 8/10 Service - 4/10 Amosphere - 7/10 Quality - 7/10 I was driving past the North I45 when I searched for BBQ. And this one came out highly rated. I must say it's a hidden gem. However unorganized kitchen and service. The crowd and number of serving in and hour was crazy and that's for the taste I bet. Slice beef 1lb was good, but I believe not the best I have tried so far. The one I got served was on dry spell and was missing rub. Sauce holds good taste. Beans and potato salad was good. I bet their loaded potato will taste good, because they chop beef for it. Service is not upto mark because the kitchen missed several orders and customers where waiting for 40-50mins. They just plain did miss dozen order numbers. And front did not know what is available or not ready, wait times for customers , or when to hold and not take orders. Austin does hold its reputation for high quality BBQ. Some fast places in competition with Burns in houston will have a lot of bread, pickles, extra sauce. Price point is good if customers get order fast. 3 meat , lbs of meet and potato loaded was the high selling items."
"The brisket was very dry. It just tasted like a normal stake, with a lack of seasoning. It may be that we just came at a time when they still sold the early morning brisket instead of serving up a fresh batch. The links were very good, though, but the brisket left me a little bit disappointed."
"First time visiting Burn's and I wasn't disappointed. Fast service and simple menu. Brisket and link sausage was delicious. I'm going back to try the famous Burn's Burger Shack right next door! They were featured on Anthony Bourdain's food show years back!"
"Good brisket and ribs. Both have a lot of nice smokey flavor. Tasted great when I got it and held up even after another 6 hour plane ride. Dirty rice and potato salad are just okay. BBQ sauce was very nice and tangy. Unfortunately no beef ribs."
