"The food here was delicious. I had the fried pork and rice as well as an alcapurria with crabmeat. It reminded me of meals at my grandma's house, and that is a high compliment! The parking situation is tough, but it's a simple restaurant with a friendly and humble atmosphere. The menu has all the staples of Puerto Rican cuisine. I'm glad I found this place as Puerto Rican food isn't very common in Houston!"
"#JoeFoodTour super yummy local Puerto Rican food spot. #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston #Montrose"
"Food is ok. Prices are reasonable for the portions. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place if you really want to try puertorican food. The fried meat or "carne frita" didn't have flavor or seasoning, as well as the beans. The mofongo was ok, but the plantains weren't ready to be made used. The A/C of the place doesn't work well. So be ready to sweat while eating. Once the food is served, no one comes to the table to check if you want/need anything else. Also, no parking is available. You must find a parking spot somewhere around the street. Unfortunately, it is not recommended."
"I’m a half Puerto Rican who has been on a JOURNEY to find good Puerto Rican food in Houston. It’s here. I almost cried the first time I came here and had their yellow rice. I was feeling really home sick for my grandma’s cooking. She passed over 10 years ago. The food is just like I remember it. Deep. Savory. Full of love and delight. If you haven’t ever tried Puerto Rican food it doesn’t get any more authentic."
"Great local restaurant! I enjoyed the mom and pop atmosphere. It was cozy and made me feel like I was at a family friends house eating dinner. The food was yummy and authentic/healthy. look forward to coming back. :)"
