Reviews of Luby's
"Lubys is ever reliable. Consistently achieving what it sets out to do. The food meets expectations, the service is always friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. It’s never going to win any Michelin stars but that’s not why you go here anyway. Quick, decent food. Reasonably priced, especially if you keep up with the specials, and a surprisingly good place to get work done."
"Cashier was extremely rude to us She shut the window in our face after complaining because we did not talk to the speaker first but we explained that was our first time ordering in drive thru in the country. She did not even ask us to wait or something. Every time she opened the window she told us expressions like: this is so annoying , uugh And when she took our order she was so annoyed of taking it. It would have been easier if she from the very beginning asked us to move back to the begging of the drive thru. This is the first and the last time we order food from this place. Lubys the worst place and worst service ever. The name of the cashier was Asia according to my receipt"
"I went around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, 10/15/2023. The food and the service with the bread server was terrible. I asked for a dinner roll and she said they didn't have anymore. I dined in and when I walked pass the food area, there was a tray of fresh dinner rolls. I immediately notified the workers and the manager. The manager informed me , he will talk to the lady that was serving us. The Philly Cheese steak was old and the edges was hard and crisp. I ate the inside of the steak."
"I ordered fish. I said the Luann’s fish and don’t forget the tarter sauce. They did not forget the tarter sauce. I can’t go back over there. And this seems like only the top of a roll. What’s up with that?"
"This Luby's location has restored my faith in the company that it can still have a future. I just went another Luby's in SW Houston which had probably the worst food I have ever experienced. Like I said in my review for the other location on S Post Oak, I grew up on Luby's so I have a good idea how things should look and taste. I decided to give this location a try because it is so close to my office. I was blown away how much better the experience was between this location and the other one. The staff literally went above and beyond in many ways, even carrying my tray to a table while I paid. The salad area was wonderfully stocked with the usual salads in their rightful display, not prepackage unappealing to-go boxes like S Post Oak. When I was seated you could see more than half of the tables had salads of some sort. If you show a product properly, people will buy it! I ordered a fruit salad and the server walked to the fridge while I groaned because I thought she was getting a prepackaged one from the fridge. Instead she returned with a chilled bowl like Luby's used when I grew up. The hot section of food was clearly stocked with actually hot and fresh food. I order my normal liver and onions but everything looked so good (including the special of the day brisket) I message my spouse if they wanted anything brought home. The sides were fully stocked. The mac & cheese was cheesy and even had a bowl of extra cheese sauce to add if you asked for more. The bread had the normal breads but also had a toast I hadn't tried before which was wonderful. After I sat at my table you could hear the all the servers checking in on everyone constantly and having small talk with customers. I'll be back."
