"My visits are normally during the day, and they're okay for dine-in. This time was a busy night, and the staff was beyond rude. We had an issue with out take out and called. The person talked over me, told me they could remake it, but "next time just read" and hung up on me. I called back, and they yelled at me and hung up on me while I was literally saying, "I'm not mad at you." I'm not exaggerating. Those were the words coming out of my mouth. I was trying to explain to this employee that I'm not mad at them, it's not personal, they didn't even make the burger, and they were so defensive they weren't even listening. I went to the store for a refund on the burger because I didn't trust it to be remade safely (allergy!!!). I'm trying to explain to the employee from the phone, which is the same one who took the order, and they raised their voice in the store, wouldn't let me finish a sentence, and said verbatim "reading is fundamental, the sign is right there." I asked multiple times for a refund before they went to get the manager to get me the refund. The employee thought it was more important to be defensive than to provide even mediocre customer service. The manager working was apologetic, but too little too late. Allowing an employee to hang up on a customer twice and yell at said customer in the lobby is not okay. Oh, and this was an $80+ order with 4 burgers, 4 shakes, and 4 fries. I was only upset about ONE burger. Outside of the customer service, we waited over 20 minutes for the order to be made, the fries were cold as they'd been sitting under the heat lamp for 10 minutes, and all the burgers were awful. Yet, I didn't ask for a remake or a refund on anything except the burger that could have killed someone. The person ordering said, "No tomatoes, I'm allergic to tomatoes," and the burger had ketchup, aka liquid tomatoes."
"Got to see (and record) the employee making a shake measure out the ice cream with her hand. Gloved, but had been wearing the glove for a while already. Literally scooped the ice cream into her palm, and then scraped it into the mixer. Plus food was way late and not actually that good. I keep trying the restaurant b/c I love sweet potato fries and they're the only fast food place around that make them, but I'm probably done at this point."
"Terrible location! Will never be returning. This was the second or third chance we've given after going to this location and being completely disappointed every time. Everything was burnt. It took 27 mins to get our food after ordering. Service was just terrible. Employees have no desire to work or have even basic interactions with customers."
"First time visiting and eating from Smashburger and it will NOT be the last time. Party of 3, we stopped by Monday afternoon and the place was empty. I thought, "please don't let it be empty because it's bad" instead let it be empty because we came at the perfect time. The young lady at the counter was very helpful and she did advise the food was not sold as a "meal/combo" instead, items would be ordered separately. Smashburger, this needs to be changed to "Make it a Combo" please! We ordered a "Double Classic Smash" plain and dry, regular fries + drink, "Double Classic Smash Turkey" with avocado, sweet potato fries + drink, "Carolina BBQ Burnt Ends" with avocado, smash fries + drink, "Crispy Brussel Sprouts" "Buffalo Wings"...and paid around $72. We got our cups and headed over to the drinks. They have your standard soft drinks, iced teas and "aguas frescas" similar to Chipotle. We sat and waited for our food and by this time more customers had walked in. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive. The food delivered everything it needed! Taste, temperature, presentation, quality, quantity! The burgers were juicy! The perfect amount of seasoning on a turkey burger. The veggies were nice and crisp! Honestly this was a burger I didn't put down after I first picked it up. The sweet potato fries were hot and fresh. Everything was. The brussel sprouts are lightly fried which gives them a nice little crisp. The wings were cooked, sauced and tossed to perfection. The only thing I was disappointed with was that we only got drums, no flats. Definitely coming back to try other items. One more request Smashburger, open up a location in Jersey Village!!!"
