"My husband and I ate here for the first time (after a recent visit to the restaurant in San Antonio) - the Mambo style shrimp - the best! I’m not a huge shrimp fan - but the sauce and how the shrimp were cooked were so tasty! Definitely a favorite! We had the empanadas - I will say the ones from San Antonio were better - but these were still great! Stuffed full of meat and cheese. We ordered the Mas+ Especial Rice - my husband doesn’t like bell peppers - but the red ones they add to the rice he actually ate - and loved the taste and texture that it added to the rice. It was full of shrimp, chicken, and pork. I had to try the street elote - it is the best I’ve ever had - a definite MUST GET! We ordered calamari to go for our son and even with the 30 minute travel he said they were perfect - he had the Mambo Shrimp as well and truly enjoyed it. I don’t remember the name of the drink we had - we shared it was good but for me a little spicy. I ordered a house salad with chicken - the bacon on the bottom tasted like it was cooked in old grease or something but overall the salad was good. I didn’t want to leave a four-star for the food when everything else was a pleasurable experience. Even with a slight language barrier - our waitress was amazing - and everything was right - better than a lot of places we’ve gone where the staff doesn’t care and gets things wrong."

"The food has gone downhill. The rice is absolutely unsatisfactory. The rice used to be made with love. The food was always fresh, and the rice was always the BOMB! However, the last three times I've gone to pick up my to-go order, the service was not great. They take absolutely FOREVER to get our food out. They stated 20 minutes, and it was actually 35 minutes. Then the food was sitting there while we waited for half of our food. The rice is not flavored at all. This used to be my go-to place for fried rice. Now, I'm looking for another one. If you eat inside I think the service and food is fine. However, if you order out, it's not worth it."

"Every time I get food here, I am 100% happy with my order. I love that they lightly batter their fried foods. They are perfectly battered and fried, the taste is so yummy! And I cannot forget to mention their famous fried rice. It's so good and they never skimp out on the proteins added to the rice. When I ordered for pick up, I got there early and decided to wait inside. Everyone was so kind and attentive. I can't wait to dine inside."

"Start off by saying something positive, the rice is delicious. Besides that, most of the other negative reviews cover it. Dirty tables, slow service even when place is empty, etc. Look at this 'Shrimp'. It's 95% batter."
