"I like to try local mom and Pop places I saw a posting with pictures of the food so I decided that I was going to go try it for breakfast on Sunday morning. Upon arriving, everything seemed OK from the outside trying to open the front door It was very hard and you had to yank on it. The restaurant is an old converted house so there is settling and that’s not that big a deal. Open the door smell was so bad. I almost turned around and walked away but by the time I got here I was pretty committed in wanting Breakfast. I never truly got used to the smell. I got the American breakfast, which was pretty good I will admit. Sitting here eating they have music playing on the TV which is extremely loud. I’m looking around the floor is dirty inside the cabinet on the bottom shelf where they have their baked goods is dirty. The air intake vents on the wall are disgusting. There’s only two other tables, besides mine that have people. I understand that the sewage smell might just be something that came up and needs to be addressed, but they shouldn’t open. If it’s going to be like that I would definitely not come back just because they allowed the smell. So I got up to pay and I got a couple of cookies from their little bakery section to try and I asked the girl about the smell and she tried to I guess, pretend like she didn’t understand me and I said is that smell always here, and she kind of giggled and said yes. That was the nail in the coffin for me which is too bad because it was a cute little place and the food was good."
"This place has really great food, was delicious and left us full most of the day, only complaint will be that our server was not very attentive the place wasn't full and only had a couple tables occupied but as soon as she dropped things off she would take off without asking if we needed anything she also had forgotten our order, but other than that is was a great"
"This quaint spot offers a variety of unique Mexican flavors and dishes not common the San Antonio area. The food is amazing and the wait staff are some of the kindest people you will meet. Eager they accommodate special requests. Bakery is rooted in traditional Mexican style! Coffee with cinnamon is a must try for those who like experiencing new coffee flavors. Worth the visit…enjoy!"
"It was great.* The food was prepared to perfection. The rice had herbs..the beans a familiar flavor. The enchiladas were made with roast cubes.. wonderful flavor to the gravy. The chips were blended corn, and the salsa was heavy and thick. I loved the soft, airy flour tortillas with a feeling of flour on them to the touch. Recommending the beef enchiladas. Service and atmosphere lacked, tho. I came in to find dirty unkempt tables.. then the busboy (who had taken his lunch during the lunch hour) came by to clean my table. To my dismay, he wiped the table scraps onto the floor.. Then, walking around the table, he proceeded to step on the food he wiped off the table. When I complained.. he got a broom and cleaned up his mess. I ordered chopped onions on my plate, but that didn't happen. I complained and the cook (manager?) came out to speak with me. I still Recommend the food as prepared. Go try this local hideaway."
