Batteries Plus

"Epic fail. The only good thing I can say is they had the batteries I needed in stock. Website is a joke. If you miss any little step in the purchasing process (like forgetting to check the tiny "Battery Installation" box) there is no way to go back and correct the missed step. Close window, start again from scratch. Purchased the truck batteries (2, its a diesel) online and used the 10% off code. Purchase total before tax was $699 yet the "10%" off only took $30 off. Guess there's a cap on the discount explained somewhere in the nonexistent fine print (excuse counter person told me at the store). I chose an appointment time to have the batteries installed. Show up and I'm told that store policy is that they cannot install auto batteries when the temp outside is below 32 degrees. Really? Again must be buried in the fine print somewhere. It's 20 degrees outside and that's why my batteries gave up the ghost in the first place. Is it impossible to change car batteries when its cold out? Um, no. Cause I grabbed the darn things and installed them myself. Pathetic excuse from a Gen Z'er in the back of the store who made the sweet young girl working the counter explain the policy to me. So in a nut shell, frustrating website, misleading discount code, and a free install that doesn't exist if they don't feel like honoring it. Will take my business elsewhere from now on."

"Not another Penny to Batteries Plus! My 36-month warrantied Duracell Battery won’t start my car after 35 months and I bring it to Batteries Plus for warranty. No warranty because the voltage was below 10 volts when you brought it in, so we don’t cover that. It was a drain on the battery, or you totally neglected the battery. Say What!? When Batteries plus tested the battery after charging it all night it only gave 420 cold cranking amps when it is supposed to give 600 new and it is not even cold outside yet here in Texas. Wait till January when it is cold outside and let’s see how that Duracell Battery from Batteries Plus does not start my car! And there is more: Batteries Plus called me back and they said my battery was bad, but they researched it more and the salesperson was wrong yesterday when he told me it had a 36-month warranty (“he was a new guy and didn’t know what he was talking about”) it is only warrantied for 24 months. Unbelievable! So, learn from my bad experience… when your car won’t start with a Batteries Plus Duracell Battery make sure to charge it to over 10 volts (if you can) before bringing it in to them or go to Walmart like I did for a replacement battery. It will save you $100, and you will get the same 2-year warranty."
