"The people complaining in comments are ignorant. Policy is policy. If you put one person down that’s going to pick it up when ordering on website and someone else shows up to pick it up, what do you expect? I value the confirmation identity the store had when I picked up my items. All they asked was for the email address I used and my id. It was simple and the store was very cute. Staff was friendly. My new favorite place ❤️"
"Not even a one star. The children’s place on Trenton has no professional managers. I always buy online and when I’m around the area I use in store pick up..which is just horrible. They ask you for everything just to pick up an order! I’m surprised they don’t ask for your social security card or birth certificate. It’s children’s clothes!!!! It’s very in expensive so I don’t understand what the big deal is for pick up orders!! This is the only store company that makes it’s so difficult for store pick up! Children’s place website always has 15% or 20% off for store pick up but it is not worth it. I went to pick up my order yesterday evening and didn’t realize it was under my husbands name..Mind you, I always have it under my name. I don’t know how I ended up putting his name. I was picking up only 2 items. The “manager on duty” has no management skills or customer service what’s so ever! I really think they hire anyone to be honest. She said he had to pick up order since it was under his name but told her he doesn’t live here (we currently live over seas but my daughter and I came to visit family for holidays ). The lady , MOD, looked as if she didn’t care .she just kept repeating herself saying no I couldn’t pick it up. So I walked off using my phone and then came back to her trying to see if there was anything else we could do. When I’m trying to talk to her she’s on the floor folding jeans and then as the audacity to get her cell phone out and start texting. I felt humiliated! She did not care at all about my situation! I just wanted to pick up 2 items and leave! Only 2! My whole experience was just awful!!! I have more in store picks up that I’m dreading picking up!!! I don’t even want to deal with people like that! I hate walking into children’s place store on Trenton! I forgot her name but she was the closing manager on Saturday 12/2/23. She always looks like she rolled out of bed. No professionalism! Another manger Esmer has no customer service either! She was on a conference call that was loud and everyone could hear behind registers while unboxing clothes! She also looked like she had just rolled out of bed! I understand holidays can be hectic but that doesn't’ give them the right to treat customers awful!"
"If your looking for some decent customer service, find it else where. My wife ordered school uniforms for our daughter from the children's place website and had them shipped to the store. My wife works all day nearly every day so me being a first responder and having daytime hours off offered to go pick them up. I asked my wife to call the store before I left the house just to confirm, one, that the items were there and two, that I could pick them up in her place, she obliged and no one at the store answered. I was in the area anyway so I went to the store to find two cashiers and a line wrapped around from the middle of the store to the back of the store and doubling back. I waited patiently in line for approximately 38-40 minutes, this might not seem like a big deal being that its near back to school time however the line was exceptionally miserable because I'm not sure if its company policy to keep the thermostat in the 80's or if it was broken but the store was very stuffy and uncomfortable and I sweat my deodorant off while waiting in line, bear with me I have a point. When I finally reached the cashier I told him I was here for an online order he asked for the order number and I gave it to him, while he was looking it up I mentioned that I am here to pick it up for my wife and that she tried to call and he said "oh yeah our phone is broken," He then told me that I cant pick it up that only she could pick it up and that "she should have read that on the email." I am not one to call for a manager, however given how miserable the wait was in no air-condition and for 40 minutes I thought maybe a manager could use some discretion and have some human sympathy and make the call to release the order to me. As he left to retrieve the manager even the customers behind me told me "that's not right, maybe they'll let you get her on face time or send a picture of her ID." I agreed thinking they would, I apologized to them for holding up the line even more and they said they didn't mine because they knew how miserable it was and didn't mind waiting for me to be helped. When the manager arrived I explained to her the situation, I told her we called to ask and no one answered, I showed her that the address on my ID and the address on the order matched. I showed her the confirmation email that my wife forwarded to me from her email address, and I offered to have my wife be put on facetime and show her ID, and that I could ask for her to send me a picture of her ID. Surely no thief would be able to go through all that trouble to steal a 5 year old's school uniforms however the manager repeated the same words the cashier did SORRY STORE POLICY! I thought the point of having supervisors was not only to manage your employees but to have a little more compassion and care for the customers and do what is best for the store and your customers. I understand the employees were following "STORE POLICY", so children's place you need a little better store policy to give some leeway for good customer service. My child is in Kinder and her 1st-12 uniforms will all be bought elsewhere from now on, we also had transitioned out of carters and had made children's place our go-to for everyday wear, but my wife and I will no longer give our money to a company that doesn't care about their customers. I will be giving old navy and gap kids a try now. I know I am just one customer but I urge everyone who took the time to read this review to take your money to a store that cares about their customers."
"If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. This store is CONSTANTLY dirty and in disarray. Store employees are rude and the store's/ corporate policy for exchange/returns and online order pickup and/or returns is absolutely horrendous! Perhaps this location needs to expand to the empty store front next door but maybe even then it would be clean and organized. What a shame that this store is in shambles."
"Surprisingly the store wasn’t as bad but because it’s still early. I walked by an associate and did not get greeted. Manager is so moody she did not greet me at the register for an online order pick up. Not sure if these women don’t want to be working today or they just need better training. I also took items to return for same shirt just bigger size. They refused to assist, they would not/offer to contact and another location for availability. Region manager needs to do some serious customer service training or get new associates that will be happy to assist their customers. Be Happy, do better, and take pride of your store."
