Magnolia Cafe, located at 1920 South Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas, is a beloved cafe and restaurant that has been serving the community since 1979. Originally starting on Lake Austin Boulevard, the cafe expanded to its current location on South Congress in 1988. Over the years, Magnolia Cafe has become a staple in the community, welcoming multiple generations of customers and creating lasting memories in its cozy booths.
As a small, family-owned establishment, Magnolia Cafe relies on the support of its loyal customers to navigate the challenges of the Covid-19 era. The cafe offers a diverse menu of delicious food, served indoors, outdoors, or through curbside pick-up. All take-out orders can be conveniently placed online, with the exception of orders paid with old-fashioned paper gift certificates, which can be placed over the phone.
In light of recent changes, the Lake Austin location of Magnolia Cafe has permanently closed, but the South Congress location continues to thrive. The cafe remains committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all customers, with measures in place for contactless pick-up and customer service.

"The butter milk pancakes with pecans and banana are a winner! The French toast and eggs zappatos were also fantastic. Bacon is nice and smokey. For a drink the Mrs. Palmer is really nice. The hibiscus tea is tasty. Super friendly staff. Amanda is so attentive."

"Wait times are expected during peak times here. QR code is available to scan to jump in line or you can go to the front desk and ask to be added to the list. The staff is nice here but they do get busy so don't be rude to them bc its not immediate attention. The Benedict was kind of cold when delivered but it wasn't a huge issue to me. The salsa for the chips was good. Parking is def super tight here but also expected for ATX. Food selection is large. Restrooms are limited but clean. Limited alcohol selection (I don't drink so no big deal for me) but I know some people who do enjoy it. I would def return to try more of the menu. OH and there's a dinosaur hanging from their ceiling so you really can't beat that. The BLT says "shredded turkey" in the description but it's just shredded turkey deli meat."
"I ordered a single buttermilk pancake, breakfast burrito and a mimosa. My friend ordered the huevos rancheros. The food was amazing and the salsa is really great. It is zingy and flavourful. I would totally eat here again. I came here as I saw it on the triple D listing. It was absolutely delicious. The service was great too."
