"Absolutely delicious and friendly staff. You can smell it coming down the escalator. For 20 bucks a good sausage sandwich with fries and drink. For an airport price that is great"
"The food was pretty good for airport food, I was gonna get a quick meal from a fast food spot but realized for the cost at the airport I might as well sit and have a brisket sandwich with a beer. The service was really good and the main guy at the counter was really friendly and welcoming."
"Passed through on a Friday afternoon, the junk of gray meat they called brisket was hard to cut with a knife, possibly the least tender brisket I've ever been served in Texas. The entire mean was basically unrecognizable as Salt Lick aside from the sauce, and the meat was an embarrassment to the name and to Texas brisket more broadly. A shame, the real salt lick in Austin is great, and even the Austin airport location is good, but this was very disappointing."
"The staff is great, and the food was made quickly, but for $20 a lunch, I was hoping my smoked Texas BBQ would have had better flavor. When I filled up my cup, the first two fountain drinks of choice were empty so I settled for my third. For a BBQ place I thought I'd find napkins, but all they had were the one ply ones that came with your plastic fork. The coleslaw was disappointing. It was cabbage with salt and pepper. My spouse had brisket nachos which he thought was okay. I had the turkey sandwich, and it had no smoky flavor, and was a bit dry. I do love smoking my own food, so maybe I'm picky, I wouldn't go here again."
"Saw the joint when transiting through Dallas Ft Worth airport, but couldn't stop by, since I had to catch my flight. On the way back, I had half an hour layover, so I finally stopped by for a quick bite, two weeks after my first visit. Perhaps that alone inflated my expectation for a good Texan BBQ. I ordered the sampler plate with pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. I got fries, coleslaw and corn for sides. It wasn't cheap, but for an airport dining option, I could tolerate it. The pork was okay, and the brisket could be more tender, but the slaw was tasteless. Perhaps it was late in the day, and I got a bad batch, but it was quite disappointing. The sausage, on the other hand, was the saving grace. The casing was not as snappy as I would like, but I could taste the seasoning in the meat. But would I return here for the sausage alone? Perhaps, but I wish I have more reasons to do so."
