Reviews of Akarii Revolving Sushi
"I took my daughter out after school and we had the BEST time! The pictures of the food and small portion make it great for kids. She and I both liked the food, but the experience was definitely the best part. The surveys don't have a lot to do with the meal because of the conveyer system, but ours checked on us frequently to be sure we didn't need anything."
"This is a truly magical place that provides amazing service, great atmosphere, and a delightful experience. All of the food was extremely fresh and delicious and the revolving sushi was an extremely pleasant experience. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The food is extremely reasonable priced and again, so so good! I can't recommend it more! If you're looking for great food with an experience tied in, definitely check this place out!!!"
"Our first revolving sushi restaurant was at “Kura” in Carrollton. This place was popular. Our Japanese friend took us there. We had to stand in line for three stools by the counter. A revolving sushi restaurant in Mansfield? That's exciting! Akira's interior was one of the best among Mansfield restaurants. The design was modern and elegant. Not traditional Japanese. Very tasteful. The restroom was clean. The seating was not stools, but full-sized booths. You face your dining companions, not the conveyor belt. The seating was more comfortable than the stools. There was a touchscreen display next to the conveyor belt. So customers can order dishes not on the conveyor belt. I was not too fond of it. Other customers touch the screen. I’m being hyper-sensitive. Many customers and staff touch non-electronic menu books too. We had two kinds of sushi from the conveyor belt. One plate of "spicy avocado tuna". And one plate of "spicy avocado salmon". Good, but only better than the grocery store. We wanted to try more, but the selection was sparse. We ordered from the touch-screen display. One bowl of “shoyu ramen” and one shrimp tempura udon. Much better. The ramen was too salty for me. The udon was great. I recommend it. In conclusion, Akira is an interesting dining experience for Mansfield."
"I honestly wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by my visit. There are two levels of conveyer belts. You can grab anything on the 1st level for $3.95 a plate. The second level is for orders you place on the iPad, which I preferred those menu items. The rolls were ok, but I enjoyed the nigiris much more. My favorite were the seared scallops! The seared salmon and beef are also honorable mentions, although the sear was inconsistent, and in some instances, the sear was very weak. I observed some dishes were hastily constructed, which I suppose is what you have to sacrifice for convenience. However, I didn't mind that much as the overall taste was still solid, and the prices were fair. I would come back again! The conveyer experience is a cool concept everyone should try at least once."
"As an avid sushi lover, I've been chomping at the bit to try revolving sushi. Akarii is my first experience! I will be honest, it's a bit of a novelty. The sushi quality isnt high-end, but its at least above grocery store levels. They keep it freshly updated as it goes around. It does look they try to make a lot unique rolls. My favorite by far was the spicy garlic Philadelphia roll and the peppered tuna. The service was friendly and attentive. The bill at the end of dinner was about the price I pay at more upscale places, but I feel like you're paying for the experience. I'd come back but only every now and then."
