The Shack At Joe Pool Lake

"We have been going to this restaurant for years. When it was under the previous ownership and called “The Oasis at Joe Pool Lake” it was fantastic! You could get seafood, sandwiches, burgers, salads and other great comfort foods. We arrived at about 3:00 pm ready for some great fish and shrimp. We walked in and the place was totally empty save for 4 people sitting at the bar. The two large dining rooms were totally empty and so was the outdoor patio. We waited in line at the bar where a sign was posted “Order here”. I saw a menu on one of the tables at the bar and they were serving hamburgers and a few sandwiches. We drove from Burleson with high hopes only to turn around and go to Fish City Grill. Don’t get me wrong, Fish City Grill has fantastic food but we wanted the al fresco eating at the lake vibe. It was a beautiful day and winter is over so it was just calling us to the lake. I don’t know if the new place “The Shack” is just starting to open or what but when I asked the manager what had happened to the restaurant he only replied they didn’t have servers and they had to make changes. Hopefully the restaurant will eventually get back to the way it used to be. It was a very popular place and Spring and Summer is just around the corner. I wish them the very best of luck and hope we can visit one of our favorite places again."

"I was greeted and seated right away and had a drink in my hand within the first 5 minutes or less of being there. Ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was really good. The chicken was really juicy and the size portion was great. I don’t go to the lake very often at all so it was nice seeing all the boats !"

"My server Bobby is energetic in the best way! Customer service is top notch. I didn’t enjoy my smoked wings. But my drink at the bar was cool and the vibe was cool! Can’t wait to go bk and hang at the bar and then on the water with friends"

"Great atmosphere cannot beat sitting out side looking out to the lake enjoying good food. I had the island punch drink , very good and the grilled shrimp tacos. Everything tasted good ,the food did take a little bit long to come out, but it was worth the wait. They took down the feeding dispensers to feed the ducks and the fish , so go to the marina and buy a bag for $4 bucks to feed the fish and ducks ( or bring your bread ) I kind of miss the butt chairs being out there to sit in. Enjoyed my day out on the lake enjoying the beautiful weather today."
