The Hen House Fried Chicken & Seafood - Mansfield 1301 East Debbie Lane, Mansfield, TX 76063

"Walking in, I thought this was an Asian restaurant. The walls were pretty blank, a bamboo plant on the counter, and sterile table setting reminds me of a grab and go Chinese restaurant. They serve egg rolls and Mexican specialty drinks but advertised as a Louisiana Chicken and Seafood Kitchen. I was preparing for a failed adventure. I ordered the platter with fish, chicken, and shrimp with potato salad. My spouse ordered the same but with fries. Shrimp and French fries were the star. Potato salad was better than expected. Fish was okay and chicken was spicy with no complimenting flavors. Strawberry soda was not flavorful but the pink lemonade tastes good. Overall… It was an okay experience."

"Nice employees! Food just wasn’t great at all. Nothing Louisiana about it. I’m sorry but no flavor. We got wings bbq and lemon pepper, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, red beans and rice and everything was a no."

"This is our second time ordering from this restaurant and again we have problems. We ordered a 20 piece meal and most if not all of the chicken breasts were cooked thoroughly. When we called them to rectify the situation, they told us to bring in the pink undercooked chicken breasts so they can give us a new batch of cooked chicken breasts. My dinner is ruined now. I had my dinner delivered, now from their mistakes I have to go pick up the new batch of chicken and turn in the raw pieces for an exchange. There should be a better way to resolve this."

"The fried fish is the best around by far! Fries are perfectly seasoned. I didn’t try the chicken tenders my sons both said they liked them a lot and even mentioned a couple of days later. Lady customer was being sort of rude when I walked in but the staff handled it well. Tried the gumbo too, too much rice in it for me but some would appreciate that. Will definitely return."

"Nice local joint! My daughter and I are big fried catfish fans and we absolutely appreciate that The Hen House uses full, un-flattened, untrimmed fillets! They're huge! For our first visit we got a combo to try several items at once. Everything was really good. Not too salty, not greasy, not overdone. The seasoning is mild without being bland. The pepper kick is black pepper, not a chilli pepper, so it will appeal to a wide audience. Prices are definitely reasonable for the portions you get. Will definitely eat here again!"
