Reviews of Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes
"REAL REVIEW: Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes 6720 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, TX 76180 I've been in training in Dallas for Bathroom Remodeling, Windows, etc. Thought I'd tried this place and TBH... VERY DISAPPOINTED. I arrived at the opening (5pm). Let's get right into it. ROLLS (8): Were soft and medium to large. They were much better warm with soft butter. They didn't serve CHILI (5) on its own. So I had to get the entree which came with a SALAD (3) or should I say, 95% Lettuce. I also received SAUTÉED MUSHROOMS (6) as a side. The CHILI "Texas tradition, made from Certified Angus Beef® Ribeye steak makes this well seasoned homemade chili special. Served with shredded Cheddar cheese, freshly chopped onions, and crackers" So NO beans, so I was excited about that however, when it arrived, it had no juices... It tasted dry. Seasoning was lacking so I had to use the old S&P. The size of the bowl was disappointing for the price. The SALAD (iceberg) was cold and mostly lettuce. The MUSHROOMS were not bad, but weren't great. ROASTED VEGGIES (7): Were not bad, but weren't wowed. Just... Meh. GREEN BEANS (7): Were cooked right, but lacked seasoning and were barely lukewarm. Now onto the star of the show!!!! 24 oz RIBEYE (3): Asked for Rare to Medium Rare... And some parts were Medium Rare. But this was unique and not in a good way. Some areas were Well Done, other areas were Medium and the majority of the steak was dry-tasting. Some pieces were tender and other pieces were chewy. The crispy seared outside was okay... Not bad, but not what I'm used to. I tried to take as many pics to drive the point. I left about half the steak on the plate as much of it was too dry and overcooked. TEA (9.5): Tasted fresh and clean. Best item on the menu. SERVICE (9): Brady was a nice fellow. He was attentive and mild-mannered. Atmosphere (7): It is warm and has a great rustic look, but it was dark and where I sat was way in the back. There was a fireplace, but couldn't see the frames in front of where I was sitting. Great size parking lot they share with their sister company, Babe's Chicken. Overall (5): This is a ONE & DONE. $107 down the drain and before anybody scoffs at the price, I was eating salads, avocados, and healthy options all week. So I thought I'd treat myself. Unfortunately, for me, it was a BUST! Very Disappointed, "Big" Henry"
"Headed back from the Airport and saw this place off the highway. The words "RIBEYE" was all we needed to know. The atmosphere was unique and will cause you to snap photos. The service was great and the food was delicious. Upon entering, the door was opened by the host with a smile, our name was taken and we were seated within 10-15 minutes during a busy time. The restaurant was decorated so amazing in each room. Lots to look at and explore with the eyes and phone camera. Our waiter PJ had a great way of connecting with each of us at the table. We felt welcomed and part of the family if you know what I mean. The food was served in good time, under 25 min with again a full restaurant. The Hush Puppies were delightful. (They could use more non-seafood options. Hint hint) My son said his Chicken fried Ribeye sandwich was the best he has ever had. All our 10 Oz Ribeyes were delicious. A bit seasoned but still very delicious. We wrapped it all up with splitting a baked apple pie with ice cream and four spoons and a cup of hot coffee to wash it down. Yum!!! We will be back again, and again!!!"
"Sooo I know this location is right next to Babe’s…but do yourself a favor and check this place out. The bread…my god it is great and has that homemade taste and comes with room temp butter which is perfect and easy to spread. The batter on their chicken doesn’t fall off when you eat it, and the chicken is very tasty. The side salads are decent sized and come with the perfect amount of dressing. The blackened salmon was great, just wish it was bigger. You can’t go wrong with mashed potatoes and their excellent country gravy and Mac and cheese as a side! Very roomy place with separate rooms if you need a more intimate space. I love it here, go check it out!"
"Went in a Thursday evening. It was pretty busy. The service and atmosphere were great. Our waiter was very fun and friendly. We had the shrimp cocktail. I had the Grilled Salmon with mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. My husband has the Ribeye with vegetables and mashed potatoes the food was excellent!! Very flavorful."
"The restaurant is dark and looks dated. The staff is incredibly friendly and worth a generous tip for their service. I ordered the pork chops with sides, and my hubby ordered the chicken fried steak. The pork chops were moist and a good side portion. The mash potatoes were okay, but the mac and cheese was watered down and had no taste. Someone with a more sophisticated palate may enjoy this dish as you can taste the process in which the food was prepared. This dish did not agree with me, but someone else may enjoy it. If you are looking for a "comfort food" menu, this is not your place. I look forward to hearing reviews from others."
