"We had pepperoni and fennel sausage pizzas n preferred the sausage. The Tuscan white bean dip slammed with the capers n crunchiness of the roasted pepitas n would order extra bread next time. The Caesar salad dressing made the salad Backspace has a great daily happy hour from 4 to 6."
"I will start by saying we tried to eat here a few months ago but neglected to get a reservation. When we came in the hostess was less than friendly because we had no reservation. We were offended and left. Fast forward 4 months and after looking for a place to eat tonight The Backspace Anderson showed up again on my Resy and as the reviews were 4.9 stars I coaxed my wife into trying them again. I am so glad that we gave them a chance. We started off with garlic bread and calamari and a bottle of Montepulciano. The calamari was perfect, tender and not over cooked. The garlic bread was just like my childhood memory of my dads garlic bread on Sunday pasta dinner. Not too oily not too dry, Goldilocks like would be the best way to describe it. For main course we had the Gemelli pasta with fennel sausage and the margarita pizza. Both dishes were spot on. The pasta was plain fennel sausage, mozzarella, roasted pepper, arugula and garlic. The flavors were ideal, the pasta a perfect al dente and the sauce just enough to accentuate the flavor of the ingredients. Finally, the margarita pizza was perfectly baked and a picture of simplicity. Olive oil, a high quality mozzarella, basil leaves and a simple tomato sauce. It’s one of the most honest, simple, delicious tomato sauces I have tried anywhere. In summary, if you want to have a great meal, honestly authentic Italian for a reasonable price that you will want to repeat over and over again this is the place! As a late note, we liked it so much we told our daughter about and it and she came to meet us as we were finishing our main courses. She ordered the Blue Crab fusili, it was also very good, a large serving and like the other dishes was simple and tasty."
"Mistakenly booked this place for a business dinner but very happy that I did. The oven baked pizza was really, really good. The spaghetti was OK but nothing to write home about. The garlic bread though was pretty awesome and I would highly recommend trying it. The place may have been a little understaffed the day I went but I thought the staff and manager handled the patrons well. Overall a neat little Italian place to try out."
"The outside with the leasing sign on the side of the building gave the idea that this place won't be here that long. But walking into this place is nice, trendy, as well as a mellow environment, Mitchell was an excellent server and attentive to detail throughout the restaurant with my table and others and seeing the other staff work well and push orders threw and majority of the individuals enjoying their Monday night. The meatballs were good, and the garlic gave a little bite as it made me examine it further as well. The parm platter was somewhat good and decent, but the pasta was overcooked and gave off the texture of canned pasta. The chicken had some areas of being chewy and tough, but the cheese and sauce were amazing. But with the pasta being "Fresh," I just didn't give that feeling. The spaghetti and meatballs were ordered by my friend, and they loved it. Also, the Sicilian Arancini was amazing as we both tasted it. If I were to come back"
