Reviews of Lolas Cuban Food - Restaurant & Bar
"Nice, clean, spacious restaurant Great service. Music playing in the background added to the vibe. Our waiter was very nice and patient. Our first time in so he was helpful with describing and suggesting menu items. Everything we had was good, and unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of all of our other food. Will definitely return to dine in or even order to go. They have different events throughout the week such as salsa lessons, karaoke, live music and more!"
"Cool little spot with cuban cusine. I wanted to like it more but the execution of the cook was just not on point. Sandwich was under grilled fries soggy. Chicken not crispy a bit rubbery. I want to give another shot, but not sure. Great customer service, nice vibe. I wish I would of spoke up about the food. We got a bit of everything."
"If you are looking for a simple, no frills, clean restaurant that serves good Cuban food then go to Lola’s! We received friendly service and the waitress was timely considering she was the only one serving 6 groups of people. The Cubano coffee was perfect. The Yucatán fries were crisp and fresh. My friend loved her fried plantains. The Cuban sandwich we give 4/5 stars because the meat was a little drier than preferred which could be solved by adding another slice of cheese to the other side of the sandwich. We got the sauce on the side and it really elevated the sandwich. As two girls who are not Cubano, we really enjoyed our dinner at Lola’s. We will definitely be back!"
"Come for great Cuban food, stay for the music and the vibe! They just recently expanded the menu so there's even more great options. One of the best Cuban sandwiches in the whole metroplex. The shredded beef (ropa vieja) is amazing! You can't go wrong with any of the appetizers. Oh, and DO NOT FORGET THE MOJITO! Growing up a Cuban in Miami I can say this place is legit."
"My boys and I were born and raised in Miami and we happened to arrive back to DFW yesterday morning, the day we visited Lola’s. Still craving our hometown, decided to give Lola a try after reading decent reviews. The place was pretty empty, only 3 tables taken, but had a nice decor at first glance. No one greeted us so I went to the bar and greeted the lady there, who turned out to be very nice, but pushy on the drinks and additional food. Nonetheless, she was nice. I ordered the ropa vieja because she assured me that it was made today. My eldest son ordered vaca frita and my kinder baby got the grilled chicken breast with fried plantains. All the meats tasted like an old refrigerator smells, left marinating too long type of old. We were starving and didn’t noticed right away, except for my kindergartner. The white rice was hard and all the food was obviously microwaved, including the fried plantains that were practically cardboard. This restaurant has potential but the mismatch chairs, dirty dishes next to the fridge with the buckets of mango and other fruit goo, next to the fridge with cans of soda and the flans, were concerning after we realized that none of the food was fresh. It’s sad that it was the food, not the service or decor that was the biggest reason why we left there with so much regret. Not worth the $61 spent on two sodas and three disgusting dishes. Shameful."
