"This is a wonderful place to go with a beautiful outdoor covered patio on the resaca. The food is great. You order at the counter, both Mexican and American fare, and they deliver it to the table, which is wherever you'd like to sit; inside or out! You will NOT be disappointed with the wonderful food either."

"This place is pretty good. So far, their food is good, rice and beans are ok. This time, the visit was a little disappointing. First of the bathroom sink was dispensing blazing boiling hot water, and there was no way to adjust it. I let the staff know, but I don't know if they did anything about it. It was hot enough to keep my hand hurting while I ate. Then I was disappointed that they didn't have green salsa and only red. That wouldn't have been a problem had the red salsa been good, it tasted like watered down salsa. Also, one suggestion would be not to put paper under wet stuff, like the lettuce, cause it easily starts peeling and end up in the lettuce and in people's mouth. Also, my husband's cheese enchiladas had no enchilada sauce. This is not a regular occurrence and I hope it's not a sign of quality dropping."

"Ice cold beer, awesome apps, and killer grub! Stop by and ask for Mary...she is all heart of gold . Enjoy both Indoor and outdoor dining. I dined on the awesome grilled chicken salad and flautas basket. I washed em down with Heinkens, but they have other ice cold beer selections. Give them a try next time you are in Brownsville, Texas."

"It was our first visit at Spanky's. We ordered the Mexican Philly Cheese Steak, and it didn't disappoint. Their onion rings are HOMEMADE!! I haven't seen homemade in a long time. They were wow and delish. Not to mention their tea!! That stuff is addictive. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to ordering. Can't wait to go back and try another item on their menu. Oh, then they have a gazebo to eat by the resaca. Next time, I'll be sure to sit out there."
