"If you like deliciously prepared food, then don't go here. If you like your food and drinks handled with love and prepared with the heart , don't go there. Service was a wee bit slow, but they were busy . Make reservations for sure and enjoy a leisurely drink and meal with family and friends. Have been there 3 times and it just somehow continues to get better with each visit . Save me a table and a cold drink and I'll catch the tab . Love y'all ❤️"
"The food was really good, the Hamburger is the best. There are a few dishes that are just good. The place is very smokey at times and smells like burnt grease. The staff is amazing though and the atmosphere is like date night. We really enjoy this place."
"We were in Alpine visiting friends. Ate here on Tuesday January 30. Our server Nicole was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the Carne Asada topped with Cheese Enchiladas. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The pecan pie was equally as delicious"
"Fantastic as always. I’ve eaten here and the Fort Worth location. Both great restaurants. We shared two apps and one meal. The calf fries are fantastic. Tasted very fresh and the gravy was delicious. Bacon wrapped jalapeños were tasty and the grits that came with were so delicious. We split the chicken fried chicken meal. Plenty of food and was so good. We were stuffed! Must go if your in Alpine or Fort Worth."
"Open on a holiday, which is more than I can say for the other local restaurants. If you’re wanting to drink – take advantage of the happy hour. If you’re dining, be sure to ask for a drink menu as they won’t freely offer it. But right off the back, they’ll ask you if you made reservations. Supposedly fine dining. Menu selection is varied. If you have a nut allergy, or sensitive to peppers, this is probably not your place. Sidebar – we witnessed a woman order a jalapeño margarita, which she could not even drink because we overheard her say, “It was the spiciest thing I had ever had in my entire life.” I liked the pecan bread, my mate did not. For apps- we had calf fries, wedge salad and beef tenderloin with pecan mash tamales. Everything lacked salt. The wedge salad did not have any bacon, however, it did have Serano peppers. I could not taste any pecan in the tamale – and the beef tenderloin tasted like ground beef. We split the ribeye plate. I can only believe the corn was either frozen or out of a can. The cheese mashed potatoes were very gummy. No sear or salt on the steak. I watched my mate’s water glass diminish to empty with no offer to be refilled. We had to ask for water refills after we received the check. If it were cooler- go eat outside. Absolutely stunning."
