"Love the bark park! I take my two huskies everyday for at least an hour. The majority of visitors are good about picking up after their dogs and paying attention to their behaviors as they interact with other dogs. My only complaints are that the gate lacks security and somehow the magnetic latch part mysteriously comes unscrewed and then eventually disappears leaving the gate unlocked for anyone to come in (members pay a yearly fee for access). Many people have suggested to the park office a solution of adding a security camera to catch whoever keeps messing with the gate latch, however, that request is repeatedly denied. Then once the latch is broken, the gate stays unable to be locked or closed securly for several weeks and sometimes months, with the park office claiming that there are a lot of other more important repairs that are being prioritized before the dog park. You would think that with all the members paying around $75 (for one dog for a yearly membership), that would give the park enough money to allocate resources accordingly - but I have been told that how projects are prioritized goes beyond the Broadripple parks and is dictated by the Indy parks department. Either way, enough politics, I still really like this dog park and would still recommend it. Hopefully the gate thing gets permanently fixed and doesn't continue to be an issue in the future."
"I was very surprised to find so many unfriendly people. As i was walking into the park which requires a key fob, my hands were full with coffee, leash and water bottles but the person right in front slammed the gate door in my face saying you have to use your own key fob. I can go on and on how the average dog owner doesn't know how to handle their overly aggressive dogs and are very nasty with regards to their dogs. There are other places I would rather go like the fort Benjamin state dog park ... that is a beautiful place for dogs and dog owners."
"Lots of room to host a large event, at least 2 large shelters for big groups, family swimming pool, with life guards. There is also a unleashed dog park very close by. I really enjoyed the greenery."
"The happiest place on earth! I've been coming here about 20 years and it's a great place to let dogs be dogs. Different times if day attract different kinds if digs and owners. Morning dogs tend to be more mellow while the 5pm "latch-key" dogs are usually rowdy. If you come and the vibe isn't for you, I encourage you to try again at a different time of day. As always, ymmv."
"We had a wonderful time here! All of the dogs were so well behaved. No dogs barked. Owners of dogs were really nice. The place was clean and well kept. There is a lot of space for the dogs and they look like they are having lots of fun all of the time!"
