"Nice trainwatching spot for trains climbing up to or descending from the Chicago line. Anything going north or south on the Chicago line or east and west on the Matteson sub that doesn't change lines is impossible to photograph. The displays are nice including the EJ&E caboose. The walkway up to the platform is formidable, and likely insurmountable for those with disabilities or in a wheelchair. A elevator for those with disabilities would have been a great idea when building the platform. A speaker to listen to passing trains would be nice so you know when something is coming like the Homewood platform. There's no way to block the wind on the non trainwatching side so in winter you get exposed to snow wind ice etc."

"Interesting place, but not helpful to visitors. No specific parking. Very sparse interpretation. Not much track. We did get a train during our visit. The prairie is a nice touch, but it should be burnt off soon."
