Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve Camping Pod is a campground located in Crete, Illinois, United States. This nature preserve offers a variety of habitats, including forest, prairie, wetland, and Plum Creek. Visitors can enjoy hiking, running, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing on the 2.27 miles of natural surface trails. The campground consists of 9 primitive campsites that can accommodate families, small groups, and large groups. Each campsite includes a fire pit and picnic table, with an accessible latrine and water fountain nearby. The preserve also features a 40-foot hill for sledding in the winter, and offers snowshoes for rental. The Plum Creek Nature Center provides nature education opportunities and a natural playscape for visitors. Permits are available for geocaching at this preserve. Donations to the Nature Foundation of Will County and the Friends of the Forest Preserve Foundation support the conservation and recreation programs of the Forest Preserve District.

"Great little Will county forest preserve district campground. No electricity but there is drinking water and latrines on site. The wooded sites can each accommodate 6 tents and it's arranged so that most tents can have their own little space. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. There's a central area of mowed grass out in the open which is 2 more campsites that you can put multiple tents on. There are some short walking/equestrian trails and a nature center in the preserve. It's clean and maintained. And I was the one there camping on a Friday and Saturday night in June! The wooded sites are not drive-up so a wagon came in handy."

"Nice and clean nature preserve. Well maintained hiking trails. Only issue is please bring off or something with promethazine in it if you're out walking. Ticks have started to emerge, although they aren't everywhere, it's better to plan so you don't bring any home with you."
