"We had been driving for hours from Dallas past Amarillo and desperately wanted to eat something other than fast food. It was Sunday and most every restaurant was closed. We pulled into a Pilot truckstop parking lot and just couldn't get out. We wanted something real. Across the street, we saw the VEGA TRAVEL CENTER, a very unassuming destination within 200 feet of I-40. Craig said- the sign says Punjabi Kitchen. We smiled and knew we had arrived. We walked into a dark but well equipped Indian convenience store with maybe a dozen tables off to the right. The menu was more diverse than we expected, and our orders were both large and satisfying. Flavorful Indian in a most unlikely location. But don't take our word for it. Treat yourself- you won't be disappointed."
