The grounds are beautifully manicured and feature sheltered sites for picnics and gatherings. Two enclosed buildings, including a screened-in pavilion and a community building with restroom and kitchen facilities, are available for reservations for reunions and receptions.
The park also boasts a bandstand, a large playground area, and a war memorial called "The Hill of Heroes". Each July 4th, the Parks and Recreation Department hosts a celebration at East Side Park, and during Christmas, the park is transformed with 75,000 twinkling lights creating a winter wonderland that attracts visitors from miles around.

"This a really solid, well maintained park, with lots of walking trails, a nice little lake and a large playground area relatively speaking. Also has several picnic tables that are spaced out throughout the park. The 2 basketball courts are probably the least maintained area of the park, but they're definitely usable."
"I love to take my dog to walk. I enjoy the ducks and geese on the lakes. There is a nice playground for the kids, basketball court, tennis courts, a community building and other meeting places plus the 4H grounds near by. People enjoy fishing and just relaxing enjoying the view."
"Great park. Kids had fun playing on the play ground equipment and looking at the fish in the lake. Lots to do. You can go fishing and put a small boat in the lake with trolling motors only. Also has a small train for the kids. Lots of places for adults to sit and relax."
