"Took a little field trip to this place while visiting family after the 2023 New Year holidays. Grew up in the area about 60 years ago and was really impressed with the renovation along the river from the DeKalb/Michigan St bridge to the dam. We even walked down to the old River Forest HS practice football field (now a part of the nature center). This area has its own unique beauty, Thanks much for taking care of it."

"Not one, but four rock-riffle dams do a great job of smoothing the water-drop in 4 steps so fish and canoes or kayaks can navigate up and down the river. A gap flows down the middle that concentrates flow at low-water and rock ledges line the bank for easy access during high-water for fishing, to portage a small boat, or use as a canoe launch site. The bridge over the river starts a .3 mile trail to the beautiful Three Rivers County Park, which is 2.7 miles away by road. What an improvement for hikers and bikers! Thanks!!!
