"Absolutely an unprofessional company. Reading through the reviews I am appalled by their rude and vulgar responses to the negative reviews. This is not how to run a business. Not running business according to fair housing laws period. To let employees scam people out of money and pass the blame on others is pathetic. False advertising.... need I say more. Can I say class action lawsuit? It will happen as long as you run a crooked business. I hope that all of your disgruntled tenants that were duped into renting from you as well as the many applicants that lost money rally together to get a class action suit that puts you out of business. People put their hard working money into renting from this company only to get false information, no way to contact anyone in regarding to maintenance requests or pest control. Nothing but greedy slumlords wanting to take money from innocent people. Shame on you."
"I was approved back in December… went to view 408 Highland street….Did not like it….I send a text and voicemail informing them that I didn’t like it and would like to see another one of their properties….IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT TO ME YET…They don’t return calls at all…. it’s starting to look like a application scam because none of the reviews are good….I can understand the holiday season puts things on hold but ,,,the holidays are over AND STILL NO REPLY ……"
"Honestly, this was one of the worst two years of my life! I started to rent an apartment from VILGAR in May of 2021. We had problems since the very beggining, from neighbors stealing packages to extremely loud neighbors to other tenants parking in our parking spot right outside. We made complaints after complaints and nothing EVER got done. And those were the times I was even lucky enough to get someone to answer my calls. We even asked if we could transfer our lease to another one of their listings and they told us they couldn’t, which was understandable we knew it was a long shot anyway. But it got that bad that we were willing to loose our deposit if it meant we could move anywhere else. Upon termination of our two year lease, communication from VILGAR was great when they needed something from us, and when it came time to the deposit I couldn’t get ahold of ANYONE for WEEKS! From my $1275 deposit I gave in 2021, they told me I would only be getting $720 back due to “repairs” and a “deep clean”. I left the apartment spotless, spent a whole afternoon cleaning it to make sure everything was in a clean state, and even then I accept the charge for the deep clean, but $405 for repairs? I tried calling for WEEKS to get a breakdown of the charge and why it was even so much. We literally left this apartment in BETTER condition than we received it in. I have proof of what the apartment looked like when we first moved in from dirty cabinets to clogged up sink! I had to request a maintenance request within the first two days of moving in! If you want to live somewhere where nothing will ever get resolved and loose your money, you’re at the right place! 8/21/23 - Reply to Response by Owner I literally left this apartment in BETTER condition than it was rented to me in. For once, I actually turned this place back CLEAN. Not with dirty floors, dirty cabinets, and nasty smoke residue in the walls. I have all the pictures for evidence, clearly you are not aware of the state your apartments are rented in. And yes, you did not deduct for wear and tear as it was stated per the LEASE that was signed, need I remind you it’s a binding contract. Meaning, you’re not doing anyone any favors. We patched up the holes we made and literally went to buy the exact MATCHING paint to paint them over as well. I have that printed for evidence as well. Just so people don’t think i’m making this up, this is the state in which the apartment was rented to me in. I also have the pictures of how it looked when I turned it in, which was SPOTLESS. 11/08/2023 - Additional Response to VILGAR You call those pictures EXCEPTIONAL? With dust in cabinet, dirty old mugs in the cabinets, and a clogged up sink? If you think this is exceptional, I do not want to imagine what an okay or fair condition apartment is rented from you guys in. Please do us all a favor and show the pictures of what the apartment was given to me in so people can also see you guys are aware of that. Feel free to also post the pictures of how I turned in the apartment as well. That way people know to look elsewhere when looking to rent an apartment from VILGAR."
"Unless you’re in dire need for a place, then proceed at your own risk. I’d advise you to pay the security deposit before signing the lease in case you change your mind. This was going to be my first apartment ever on my own & they took full ledge advantage of that. I changed my mind a week after paying my deposit & they told me my money was forfeited. To just take someone money like that & not even have the decency to respond is absurd. I believe I have a valid reasoning for my cancellation. But, greed is something else. In the reviews you’ll see the only people that seem to have the best experiences with them are white. UPDATE: Today is November 6th, 5 days after my initial move in date. Which would make rent a day late.. I decided to tell them I’d go ahead and move forward with the apartment & YES they made a problem out of that as well. I told them I’m one month’s rent+late fee ready and their argument is that the lease has been voided & that will be the reasoning for them refusing to allow me to move in. You cannot win with these people, even the way they respond through text message is unprofessional."
"Me and my girlfriend just move in recently this august everything was good until they gave us they wrong apartment and also it was BUGS problems they never wanted to answer their phones but so worried about Rent… there no actual landlord and how you guys don’t have a mailbox how peoples gonna deliver packages and also I did had a packages delivered i messages about it no one ever replied or even ask if this was my packages… worst place I’ve ever been tbh don’t even feel comfortable or trust anyone around here for real anymore .. y’all basically really scamming peoples and that not a good look for y’all… just need to be more with communication and be professional with y’all jobs!!!!! UPDATE: My email is valid with you guys and tbh after reading other reviews, the good reviews are just staff members who’ve work for you or people who lease their properties towards you for quick money, and the real customer reviews are 1 start to practically no star reviews. You guys are frauds and more than likely lawsuits should be considered for this atrocious service and even more dangerous and despicable and suspicious apartments you guys have. Business licenses should be taken and all of you involved should be jailed by the state of Indiana cause if you hired a professional Hoa/apartment inspector, you guys would be without a business within a month for crimes you’ve committed to innocent people just trying to have a place to live. Ex Tenants should really hire a lawyer for the blasphemy, time and money wasted on people who are only in this business to make a quick dollar."
