"My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon. We had the most enjoyable tour, our tour guide was Dapper Deputy, he was very informative yet funny & personable. It was fascinating to see what prisoners endured back then and how small most crimes were compared to today. I highly recommend this for an enjoyable afternoon!"
"We had so much fun learning and seeing the history of this old jail. Our guide, Benny, was great. He was informative and funny. The main fact that stood out to me was that it closed in 1953 without ever having running water. It also has the first finger printing kit in the state of Florida. It’s 16.99 a person, and it’s slightly kid friendly. They do talk about hangings and the gallows (it is an old jail after all). There are graphic images of hangings that took place there, but there is a warning sign before you enter that room. It isn’t a part of the guided tour. It is not wheel chair accessible. A lot of the areas are tight and the stairs are steep."
"Some may feel otherwise, but I love these attractions. Especially when reasonably priced like this one. Places like this make you feel like you're walking back in time. You can almost feel the energy of those left behind. The tour operator was very knowledgeable, and everyone else was very pleasant. I also love that it's not one of those tours that forces you to keep it moving. While they do move you along, you have plenty of time to look and explore. We went during a holiday week, so parking was a challenge. Other than that, we loved it!"
"Our guide was William. He was able to get the group brought together and have fun. He was able to make it a 1 of a kind experience. He was able to keep our attention and even the attention of my 3 year old and 10 year old! Great history in the old jail and love being able to hear about it all! The ticket for the tour guide measure was part of the trolley ride! I do recommend the trolley ride also!"
