About the Business
Silver Dew Winery is located at 144 Beach Road on Daufuskie Island in South Carolina, United States. It is the oldest winery in the state and offers a unique experience for visitors. "The best! The staff is very knowledgeable and their hospitality is outstanding! Selections for everyone. Highly recommend spending a few hours touring and visiting the lighthouse museum for an enlightening experience! 5+++++ stars"
"After an otherwise wonderful trip to the island, we really wish we hadn't stopped here. We are traveling so we had our well-behaved dog with us. We were immediately told she couldn't be in the building (the only building she hadn't been allowed in on the island) unless she was held (45 lb Aussie), so my husband said ok and took her out. I followed and we walked around the yard area and my dog stopped to do her business. Being responsible pet owners, we bagged it and began looking for a trash receptacle. I told my husband I wanted to look at the museum side of things so I went back inside. Within a couple of minutes I hear a commotion outside and see the girl working behind the counter in the store is now outside yelling at my husband, and an older woman inside is saying he is putting dog poop on my golf cart. I said I don't think so, and she said yes he is! I walk outside to find out the older woman was the girl in the shop's mother. There were literally NO trash cans outside on the entire property. My husband saw the non-visitor golf cart and correctly assumed since it was already piled high with bags of garbage, that it would be an appropriate place for the tied-off bag of poop. The girl was yelling at my husband that her mom was 'doing a dump run', but don't put it in her cart... wow..."
"Fun gifts and wines. Historic winery. People are so friendly . Near the beach."
"A winery is a small part of your experience. Is a lighthouse. Also an eagles nest there you can see them growing the grapes walk around the property. The exhibits in the house are really neat"
"The oldest winery in South Carolina. So worth the trip to Daufuskie Island. Tasted 3 wines. All very good and friendly service. The grounds were simply beautiful! If we had more time would have grabbed a few glasses and relaxed outside, but, we had other stops to make. Be sure to check out the small museum and gift shop. Highly recommended!"
