"In Windermere — This historic Windermere Schoolhouse, opened in 1887, it is the only surviving one-room school house in Orange County, and one of the few still standing today in the entire state. Theresa Schretzmann-Myers devoted three years to get a historic Marker for the school, in 2003 the school was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Theresa is one heck of a history buff and will gladly educate you on just about any questions you might have on the history of Windermere and Gotha. Make sure you check out the outhouse. Windermere, Florida The grounds are very well kept. Parking in just a short walk away near the old town hall building."
"I was sad to find the grounds around the old school house haven't been maintained. It's a beautiful tiny park that needs love. The school and the outhouse are showing signs of rot or rodent damage that needs a careful hand."
