"Awful! Got a ticket for using cell phone Office Bennett encouraged me to go to court to fight the ticket! I called the court house and talked to Victoria the court clerk and she said “oh yes come to court 9 x’s out of 10 “he” the judge will decrease the ticket” Well got up early dressed nice got to court… my name was called pleaded guilty which I was … but the judge said .. “ it’s a mandated fine of $125.00 pay the clerk “ I asked if I would have points on my license the the judge said “ I don’t know you have to contact the DMV”…. How does the judge not know this! And I’m not happy with Officer Bennett or the clerk Victoria… if I knew that this was going to happen I would have just paid it instead of being humiliated in a court room where I have only been once for a divorce! People who were there for speeding tickets were knocked down to minimal payments…not impressed or happy I didn’t care about paying fine I just didn’t want points on my license… I would like to give no stars but that was not an option"
"Stopped by on my way through the Northern Neck, the old courthouse lawn and building is dotted with memorials and such, including one for the Great War (with a detail that surprised me, see if you notice it), a newer memorial for all the wars fought with citizens from Lancaster County, and a bell presumably from the courthouse. The first Confederate dead memorial in Virginia is an obelisk a little ways away off the roadside, so I would stop there, too, if you have the time. Worth a stop, historic old courthouse, cheers."
