The historian I spoke with was extraordinarily knowledgeable, generous with her time, and able to provide context for the questions I've been struggling with. I'll be back sometime to do family research but for now, I have a better understanding of what was happening in the area in the 1600s which is extremely valuable as I try to understand what life was like in the area."
