Latasha Always answered when I called before filing and when I filed she walked me through everything and made sure all my questions were answered and all my personal information was correct! "Jan. 2024. My mom who is in her 70s, now lives and is a resident of Indiana but receives her pention from the job she retired from almost 20 years ago, just went here to get het taxes done. OMG WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!! Not only did my mom have to sit thete for over 5 hours..... The tax preparer said she had to pay state taxes to California & Indiana. Which is absolutely not true. You do not pay state taxes to a state you are not a resident. I know this as fact as my husband was in the Marine Corps for 21 years and we moved around alot with me working in and having to claim residency in various states. He as a Marine stayed a resident of the state where he joind up. So every year we had to file taxes to at least 2 different states. In addition according to INDIANA gov.tax website Indiana does not tax a person social security. But the tax preparer said Indiana does tax social security. The tax preparer argued with my mom and basically told my mom she didn't know anything and didn't know what she was talking about. My mom has been living in Indiana like I said for around 10 years. My mom had been using the same tax preparer from California who she had used for years before moving to Indiana do her taxes every year except this one. HUGE MISTAKE. She was wanting to find some one local. Not once in the last 10 years since moving to Indiana has my mom been told she had to pay California tax. And you would think a tax preparer who resides IN CALIFORNIA would know!!! So maybe if your taxes are simple. Just income from Indiana. Nothing confusing or different you would be ok to go here. But I was reallly upset at this place for treating my mom like she was just an old ignorant lady. They pressured her instead of saying Hey lets set up another appointment and give me time to look into it... BECAUSE my mom knew what she was taking about!!!! They filed so now they claim she will owe back taxes to California of over $5000.00. She is freaking out. She doesn't have an extra $5000. Sitting around. She will NOW have to just end up having her tax person in California redo the taxes, file amendments etc. Plus at an additional cost . Plus they were telling her she wasn't paying local county tax which she was. Though her estimated state tax payments. They looked vloser and were like Oh I see it yes you were paying. Lets talk estimated taxes. My mom pays estimated taxes - state and federal. In the past her tax preparer made sure she got /gets a payment coupon/voucher with the amont she needs to pay and the daye it is due. Here the federal tax payment voucher did not have a date due of an amount. She was told just pay what you payed last year.. just write the amount n. . So they wouldn't beliver her abot the state tax but they would just sau well do what ever you did last year. Ugggg. We tried to tell her after consulting the internet abot the state tax issue but she would not listen she just said I hate it when people look online. I realize people do not like to be questioned about their profession as they should be the expert. You just don't treat people like this!!!! Especially when you ate dealing with peoples income when they are on a fixed income. Shame on the person who manages or owns this location!!! I hope someone down the road doesn't treat one of you family members like this."

"I could not be more pleased or satisfied with my experience. Latasha Young is the manager of the office I went to. She was an absolutely stunning lady inside and out! She treated us like royalty. My wife has a disability and Latasha worked extremely hard to help us to understand how we could get the best possible tax return. Even making suggestions how we should take a little more out of our checks and so on. Beyond that the owners per conversation with latasha, allowed us a massive discount on the price as we paid out of pocket."

"I called Jackson Hewitt's customer service at 11:40am. I received a noon appointment minutes later(which was awesome). I walked in at noon and was greeted by a the office manager Mrs. Latasha Young. She told me she would be right with me as soon as she finished with her other client. Shortly after I sat and had had my taxes prepared by Mrs. Young. She was wonderful, great communication, excellent customer service and she was very informative. She didn't mind if I asked her questions and didn't mind answering them even if I didn't quite understand initially. Overall great experience!!!!"
