Reviews of Canine Perspective: Structured Dog Boarding, Daycare, & Training
"Canine Perspective is a wonderful place to to send your dog for daycare or to board. I fully trust them to take care of my dog (Lainey) and I can tell how well they treat her whenever I go to drop her off or pick her up. The Canine Perspective staff makes sure to put dogs in play groups that have similar temperaments which allows for the dogs to socialize in a safer way than it being a full free for all. The structure allows Lainey to socialize, go on the treadmill but also take a break when she needs it. I can tell that the staff really cares for each individual dog and that gives me peace of mind whenever Lainey is there!"
"As first time dog owners, we woefully overestimated our ability to handle our Belgian Malinois mix puppy, Gretchen. We had previously sent her to a large chain doggy daycare thinking we were giving her a positive experience but she developed some strong reactivity in that overwhelming environment being surrounded by up to 40 dogs at a time. Canine Perspectives literally saved us. Gretchen started her structured daycare experience with Jesse & Elizabeth after we did some research into Jesse’s experience and philosophy. After a short transition, Gretchen truly transformed as a dog. Her reactivity was seriously reduced and she was happy and tired at the end of her daycare days. We subsequently completed a 2 week board and train to address obedience with the goal of giving Gretchen off leash freedoms, further reducing her leash reactivity, and making expectations more clear in our house. The training completely exceeded our expectations. Not only had our dog’s obedience skills been remarkably increased, but Jesse provided us with hours of training videos (not just stock videos but training videos specifically of our dog) so that we could really understand how we could reinforce her training and learn ourselves. In our experience there is really no better dog trainer or daycare in the Chicago marketplace and will be trusting the team at Canine Perspectives with our dog for years to come. We truly are so grateful to have found them."
"Our dog is turning two next month and he’s been with canine perspective since being a puppy. We started off doing a puppy group, some daycare and eventually training. We have nothing but wonderful things to say. Our dog has some separation anxiety issues, but mainly he’s over friendly on walks and would pull on the leash. He has no off switch and is always excited. The training was night and day. Beyond trusting my own dog, I have a hard time trusting other dogs in the city of Chicago. He gets barked at, lunged at, and more on our walks in the neighborhood and thanks to his training he just keeps on walking ❤️. It’s so nice to have a place that he can play with his friends where I don’t worry at all about his behavior or the other dogs because the canine team is so focused on structure. We love this place and it’s so nice not to worry about our dog when we go out of town or are busy one day. Thank you Elizabeth, Jesse and canine team!!!"
"Our dog is 1.5 years old and has been training with Canine Perspective since she was 4 months old for severe behavioral issues (she has a neurological disorder). This training has given our dog opportunities that we never expected her to have (ie. Being able to take her on vacation with us and have lots of people meet her and pet her, taking her on off leash walks, peaceful interactions with our cat, ect). You can tell from the way that she looks at Jessie and how excited she is to be there that she has fun with the training too. :) I recommend them to everyone who is struggling with their dog's behavior."
"canine perspective is one of the *only* places i trust my babies with! i’m not a dog expert at all, but i have handled/worked with dogs for a handful of years as a dog walker & at a dog daycare. and after working at a dog daycare myself, i was entirely against even bringing my first dog to work with me after the first few times. he hated it, and i hated it. again, i know the bare minimum when it comes to handling dogs and i can confidently say i was the most knowledgeable person there- and most times it was just me alone trying to manage a room full of overstimulated dogs. there was no structure, just a lot of me scurrying trying to stop fights, comfort stressed pups, & then me trying not cry at the end of each shift from also being overstimulated lol. after that experience, i wasn’t interested in trying any daycare, and was put off by most training programs & trainers from seeing what was offered at the prior place i worked —until i found canine perspective! i had the absolute pleasure of training my first baby mulder with jesse. mulder had mild reactivity but what i really wanted was the off leash skills. this is what brought me to canine perspective, and of course we just couldn’t not take advantage of all that they had to offer after that! it was the greatest thing to be able to let my sighthound run to his hearts content, chase squirrels, and just explore the world all knowing he was safe with a bomb proof recall. and on top of that, his reactivity was *poof* gone! it was like we were able to communicate on a different wavelength after training, and we could just go on adventures knowing i had his back and he didn’t have to worry about other dogs, and he would deal with those pesky squirrels and rabbits. but besides the amazing services, the people that make up this place are some of the most wonderful people. words cannot express how grateful, thankful, and indebted i am to them for all they have done for my boy mulder, ocho, and now luci "
