"Horrible experience. The lady named Samantha has no idea about what she is doing. Gave me completely wrong info with such arrogance. For example the tax treaty between BD and USA clearly says it is valid as long as f1 visa is valid (Article 21-2). I don't know where she got it but she insisted it is valid only for 2 years. I spent 100+ dollars to purchase the HnR block software and prepared my return. I just had couple of very minor questions which she declined/gave wrong answer and insisted me to prepare a fresh return with her. As a whole this company sucks. The people from the helpline in the software set up this appointment and gave me a code, this lady said she has no idea what this code about. She was horrible even though I agreed to pay for the consultation. Horrible experience."

"I thought I had a rocky process (have to go in 3 times because I found multiple mistakes), but I am really disappointed when there are follow-up issues with the return but I was never able to get a hold of H&R Block anymore. Left multiple voice mail and also contacted the corporate office - but no one responded even in acknowledging the receipt of my email. ---- update on 3/3/2020 I hated when the owner responded to these google reviews as if they are proactively trying to resolve the issue, so i want to provide follow ups as it unfolds. I called the 800 number as suggested (which i did before), was held up in a 30 minute wait. got through but was told i needed to be transferred to the correct department. After the transfer, the phone signal "please hang out and dial again." There you go. —— Update on 3/11/2020 Called around 15 times in between and I was able to get a hold of some staff, including Lavern Glick, who is my tax preparer, at different calls. Every time, the conversion ended with let me do more research and call you back — which nobody followed up, and then I call back again, it is like none of these prior conversations ever happened. Last time, I asked Mr. Glick that I am feeling really frustrated about the process and if there is a supervisor I can speak to, he said “I will look into it” and hanged up on me. —— Update on 12/29/2021 I want to update stating I have still not received my amended refunded after two years at this point. H&R Block never took a proactive approach in helping me. Now their stance is it is all out of their hands, so good luck in chasing down what’s going on at IRS on your own!"

"Carol arbuckle helped me so much and helped me understand my taxes more! The process was super quick and painless she got me in and out In 30 min without having me feel rushed, and got me the biggest amount of refund I could get! The front desk was also very courteous, they allow walk-ins but told me that since it was busy the day I went in they could schedule me for an hour later and it was perfect for my schedule!"

"I felt my experience was a bad one because of the representative that was assigned to me. She seemed to lack confidence and certainty in the process. My first appointment lasted two hours! During the second hour almost nothing was accomplished. At one point, for example, she typed something in, looked at it, then deleted it. She typed the same thing again, looked at it, then deleted it. Typed the same thing a third time, looked at it, deleted it. The representative across the aisle completed his work with three clients during that two hours, and my return still wasn't finished. She asked me to come back a week later by which time she would have finished the return--which is what happened. It was painfully incompetent. Even that second appointment lasted a half hour."
