"DO NOT USE Tax Help! I am astounded at the conversation I had today with what turned out to be the owner of the business. I’ve been using them to do my taxes for the last five years. It’s safe to say I’m a loyal customer. I had some questions about my return this year and requested to speak to the person whose name was listed as having prepared them. I had already requested a meeting earlier this week and was told the next available opening was April 19, after the deadline to file, so I booked it. The lady at the front desk said Erin was booked until closing, but she could possibly get me in right at closing. I graciously accepted. I did ask to take the returns to view with my wife, but they wanted payment first, and I said I wouldn’t pay until I talked to Erin. I was fine with that. Upon my return I sat down with Erin and thanked her for agreeing to stay past closing to speak with me. I could immediately sense her frustration. I paused the conversation and shared that I sensed that she and her front desk staff were frustrated and asked if I had done something to upset them. She went on to tell me that I hadn’t scheduled an appointment, they prefer to have spouses together, and I hadn’t returned her phone calls. I explained that I had scheduled an appointment earlier in the week but they couldn’t get me in until April 19, after the filing deadline, which is why I asked the front desk for a sooner time. Also the front desk is the one who suggested today. Not me. I even offered to meet a different day. My wife and I had planned to come in together but she wasn’t feeling well (not that it was any of her business), and I had returned her first call the same day and gotten my wife to call her back the second time because I was in a meeting. Erin demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and failed to show any empathy for me as a customer. She went on to say that “because of this we’ve spent more time on you than we’ve spent on other clients.” I’ve never had a business owner say so blatantly that I was a waste of their time. I told her I felt treated poorly as a customer, and that our conversation was not going well. I also let her know that her approach towards me felt unfriendly. She did not relent, nor seem to care. She continued to defend her point that I had wasted her time and not communicated with her. Erin is ABSOLUTELY NOT a people person. The only thing she seems to care about is processing tax returns and getting payment for them. I let her know I was not happy and didn’t want to continue our conversation. I was so disgusted with her attitude that I didn’t even want to have her walk me through the return which is the only reason I came. I told her I intended to sever our relationship and that I was never going to do business with her again. Her response was, we’ve completed your return. I told her I expected her to fulfill the service I was paying her for. I agreed to walk back up front, pay her for her services and have them file my return. After that I wouldn’t be coming back. She made it a point to tell the lady at the front to cancel the April 19 appointment in front of me. I’ve never seen someone so happy to get rid of a customer. All I wanted was professional advice on my taxes and was instead treated like dirt. As I look at other one-star reviews of this business, and of this owner, I read descriptions that say defensive, rushed, not valued, disappointing experience, argumentative, sarcastic, interrupting, unreasonable women, did nothing but escalate, took no responsibility, and more. This is exactly what I experienced as well. I’m sure I’ll get a response that says they respectfully disagree, but I want any future clients to beware. This is not a business that wants to serve customers. Their leadership and culture clearly demonstrate that. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They just don’t care about you. Don’t’ forget to check out their 2 out of 5 yelp rating."
