Reviews of Indy Pet Core
"Awesome experience!! The team was great with my dog in helping her recover from TPLO surgery. She's not fond of water but the girls were so patient with her and helped her get more comfortable each week! By the end she was walking in the underwater treadmill on her own for the full time! The whole program definitely helped speed up my dog's recovery and I love seeing her back to her energetic, happy self!!"
"In May 2022 I took my Australian Cattle Dog mix, Bella for a consultation at Indy Pet Core following her surgery for a torn ACL. I met with Dr. Cantrell, and we developed a good plan for her rehabilitation. Dr. Cantrell was very nice, and he seemed to be extremely knowledgeable especially with ACL tears. Bella attended rehabilitation regularly and she was making great progress. I was very pleased with the communication between the staff at the clinic and the regular progress notes that I received. However, several weeks into her rehabilitation there was an accident. While Bella was performing her rehabilitation exercises, she fell off a piece of equipment. When I picked her up that day, she was noticeably walking differently and I immediately knew something was wrong. The technician said to me that there had been an “accident” and Bella fell. She said that she wanted to be completely honest with me and that she hoped that Bella would be ok. I immediately requested a consultation with Dr. Cantrell. He agreed to examine Bella and I met with him to discuss what had happened. Dr. Cantrell stated that Bella had possibly partially torn her other ACL. After leaving, I immediately scheduled an appointment with the surgeon that performed Bella’s initial surgery. Bella received another evaluation at the surgery center, and she was diagnosed with a torn ACL. I was understandably very upset as the recovery from one ACL surgery is extremely challenging, let alone two. However, I truly felt that Dr. Cantrell would take responsibility and help with the cost of the $4,000+ second surgery. After the consultation with Dr. Cantrell and Bella’s surgeon I took Bella back to Indy Pet Core as I believed that they would help with the original and newly torn ACL. However, it was apparent that Bella was in a lot of pain and I wasn’t totally comfortable with her continuing physical therapy at the facility. I notified Dr. Cantrell’s office that I wouldn’t be continuing physical therapy with them due to my concerns. After discontinuing therapy with them, Dr. Cantrell did not reach out to discuss what the next steps would be for Bella’s treatment. Nor did he offer any type of help or compensation. Bella received surgery on her other leg, and I embarked on another 4-month rehabilitation journey. This resulted in unnecessary pain, suffering, and long-lasting health consequences for Bella. Again, I received no correspondence from Dr. Cantrell or his staff. In July 2022, I sent Dr. Cantrell a letter letting him know the expenses I had incurred as a result of Bella’s surgery. I provided him with receipts and also conveyed my concern that Bella might have complications as a result of the injury and subsequent surgery. Unfortunately, my fears became reality. Bella’s second surgery was not as successful as her first surgery and she now requires daily medication and a special diet. The cost of her surgery was over $4,000 and now I have to pay roughly $50 a month for her medication and diet for the rest of her life. Dr. Cantrell finally reached out and said that he provided all of the information to his insurance company and that he would get back to me. It’s now January 2023 and I’ve heard nothing from Dr. Cantrell. I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am with him. While he certainly seems concerned about the health and wellbeing of my pet, he doesn’t seem interested in doing what is right. I would recommend that if you decide to take your pet to Indy Pet Core, you proceed with extreme caution. Dr. Cantrell is not on-site, and your pet might not be monitored as they should immediately following major surgery. This is a crucial period where they should be carefully watched as they perform their exercises, especially while on any type of equipment. I wanted very much to fully put my trust in Indy Pet Core but they let me down very badly. Now, I’m left with a pet with a permanent medical issue and the bills to go with it."
"This boy was completely paralyzed in the rear and completely incontinent of bowel and bladder from a herniated disc. All the of their therapy modalities had him up and walking again, without his wheelchair in just a few months and he is using the bathroom appropriately!! He still goes in twice a month for “tune-ups” and he’s doing great!! Love this place! Friendly staff and they email you updates of their sessions almost immediately that day!"
"I would highly recommend Indy Pet CORE to anyone with a pet needing therapy. We started here about a year ago after my dog had an amputation and needed a little extra help. Ashlee, Brie and Megan were absolutely amazing with our dog and got her to do things even I couldn’t. She was always so excited to go to therapy and I could tell she really trusted them. She made great improvements with her strength and balance while there and we are so glad we had such a great therapy center close to us. They are all amazing at what they do!"
