"Never order anything from this company! We ordered 3 trees for a good client's balcony project last fall and did not need them until late April. The trees we received were very poorly made with stretchy, inferior glue. After a storm, they had all fallen over and lost more than a dozen branches, with more still falling out each day, even in normal weather! MUCH dialog took place about these trees. The ceramic pot we liked has a narrow bottom so they suggested adding rocks for additional weight in each of the containers for stability which we assumed would be adequate. At no time were we ever advised not to use these containers or order these trees, nor we warned that they would fall over and fall apart because they were to be placed outdoors. No one ever asked us for any additional details about conditions or the balcony during our several emails and calls. We relied on Distinctive Designs as our expert (as they had done a good job in the past). These were expensive custom-built trees and are now useless, continuing to fall over, even after tethering them and adding additional weights at the bottom of all containers. This has been a very embarrassing situation, requiring a lot of our time and attention and at a substantial additional cost, factoring many hours of additional time, materials (weights and tethering lines). We were sold indoor silk trees in containers that should have been unavailable for outdoors. Our issues have nothing to do with fading or deterioration, just poorly made trees from inferior materials, completely unsuitable for our stated use from day one. We have attempted to recover a reasonable 50% of our cost to replace these trees locally with Polyblend trees that are specifically made for the outdoors, but our request has fallen on deaf ears and worse, Distinctive Designs has made us out to be at fault when they gladly accepted our order and knowingly made and shipped trees totally unsuited for our stated use. They have cited their ambiguous “fine print” disclaimer mentioning fading and deterioration when placed outdoors and that it’s preferable they are sheltered and away from heat and rain. I ask you, why would someone ever order outdoor trees from a company expecting that they will not be exposed to heat and rain?!? That is the entire point of sourcing outdoor trees in the first place! Under shelter and outdoors is pretty close to an oxymoron. These are but a few of the early photos, taken about a week after they were delivered. They have lost 3x this number of branches within 5 weeks."
