"Got racial profiled for trying to buy a gun because me and my friend both have tattoos and golds neither one of us are felons or have a backgrounds but we’re sent away called it a “straw purchase “ with a attitude I’ve been a customer here for a long time will not be back How ignorant could u be if i had came into the store before I was 21 looking alone and was advised to come back when 21 helped me out now I didn’t buy a used beat up rusted gun when I can get brand new one for 20 more dollars with more clips"
"My wife and I went today to look at some guns, we have bought several of our guns from First Cash pawn. Today my wife did most of the talking to the lady behind the counter… after of course we waited about 20 minutes while one was helping another customer and another pawn clerk was buying empanadas and hearing the entire menu of what the empanada lady sold. We waited patiently until someone else came out of the back to help us. My wife asked to see a couple of guns and before she was even handed the gun she was asked to handover her license and she did. That was totally understandable, once we looked at them we proceeded to purchase them but the lady Straight told my wife she has to decline the sale because it looked like my wife was being forced to buy the gun. My wife is Hispanic and I am a black male. Yes, I have tattoos all over but I am also a businessman. I felt like the lady discriminated against us because of how we looked. I respect my wife so I let her handle business when a female employee take care of us and she does the same when a male employee anywhere we go helps us. In this case this young lady never asked for my license, she assumed that I wasn’t going to be apart of the purchase but she didn’t even asked. All she said was that the guns were new to the store (like we had knowledge of that) and she had to red flag the sale and told us to leave. This was super disrespectful and the employees need to learn how not to judge based on looks, we are in 2022 now tattoos are normal and for her not to even run our information and just deny us the purchase was a bit ridiculous. I will take my hard earned cash elsewhere."
"Today I was left a message to pay on my ring in layaway which I had already paid a week prior. During that time they said they would place a missing stone in the ring before i paid my last payment. The stone was lost while in the pawn layaway. The CSR that wrote the note never took ownership to writing it, also lied right to my face denying it. The ring brought a past memory of my struggle as a single parent and I had to pawn my rings to pay rent, so I really wanted it for a sentimental reason. Anyway i was told to now pay for the ring in full then they would send it to the jeweler for the stone replacement, but not before the manager made the statement that i can just take the ring to get the stone replaced for $5 or $10 dollars. I told him if he take $ off for the ring I would gladly get it fix which he rejected. So now my ring is paid for and I have to wait a week to get it. This will be my last time going there hope the shut down cause their customer service sucks."
"Don't bring electronics here.. Brought in a Sony stereo, they said $30 and they passed it around, all attempting to "make it play sound". They jammed a paperclip into the antenna jack to try to get a station too. This took 30 minutes and they passed because they couldn't hear "sound". Not only did I bring it to the pawn shop 3 miles away, they hooked it up in 5 minutes and gave me double what they initially valued it at First Cash."
