Reviews of American Philosophical Society
"Free entry to the museum exhibits, I came here to see the women in science exhibit. I enjoyed it, but there was a big lack of women of color being represented, would have loved to see some current women scientists as well! Beautiful building and friendly staff"
"This unique museum opened in 2001. It is a hidden gem near Independence Hall that our family visits at least once a year. The museum is located in Philosophical Hall, a Georgian style building erected in 1789. The Society was founded by Ben Franklin. His statue keeps a watchful eye from across the street. The museum's annual, changing exhibits celebrate advances in science and American history. Admission is free, with donations welcome."
"Make Freedom Loving Ben Franklin proud. Enjoy a US brewed Miller High Life, The Champagne of Beers. I AM. Love my 1965 synchronicity!"
"There's nothing extraordinary about the exhibit's material or presentation that I saw when I visited here, but it was still interesting enough to keep me engaged through the entire visit and it's a free museum. Nothing here is worth going too far out of your way to see, but it's a nice free one hour detour from the other attractions in the area so I'd still recommend it."
"This was an unexpected rare find. We found this museum on the way out of Independence Hall. The current exhibit is Women in Science and it is a good balance of informative and fun facts. Admission is free and the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. This is a great spot for a temperature controlled short detour after exploring Independence Hall or the Liberty Bell."
