"Historic, beautifully preserved mansion in Society Hill built in 1765. It was home to Elizabeth and Mayor Samuel Powel, who hobnobbed with our nation's founders. I visited for a fundraising event, and the garden area was decorated with white lights for the occasion. It would be perfect for an intimate wedding or party. Most of the rooms are open and restored, plus a knowledgeable guide was provided to offer tours."

"We held our wedding reception at the Powel House last August. The dinner took place in the garden and the setting was absolutely gorgeous. Many of our Philly-based guests didn't know about the house and were excited to learn about it's historical significance. Renting the space itself is inexpensive but there is a hidden cost in that you have to rent the tables and a tent, and you must use their approved caterers. That said, we felt it was worth it. Thanks so much to Meagan and the rest of the staff for making it such a smooth event."

"I absolutely fell in the love with the Powel House when I first saw it. It is a gorgeous historical home in Society Hill, Philadelphia that is filled with a such a rich history. We chose to have our small intimate wedding there and were blown away by how accommodating the staff was and how beautifully the house was transformed for the reception. I would highly recommend for a tour or even more so if you're looking to host a wedding or other event. Thank you Jennifer for everything!"
