"I can’t get through to talk to anyone. Phone number reaches mailbox that is full."
"I first came to District 10 back in 2016, having fled to a domestic violence shelter with my kids, scared, already having had to go to a court hearing to represent myself and my kids for protection orders and custody on my own because the court in the county I was at at the time wouldn't grant me a continuance to get legal assistance. Since then, they've been at my side through multiple custody cases, and protective order cases, a case to defend my kids when they needed help, and they've provided me with I think four lawyers over the years, and right now, even though there aren't enough lawyers to help me with the kids' father's latest shenanigans that are too complicated for pro bono services, they are still helping me with legal advice and form filing so I don't have to face this alone. If you need assistance, this is without a doubt, the place to go! I've had over five years of so much more than just legal support and resource referral, because the staff truly care and have helped me by just being there and genuinely showing they care and offering emotional encouragement and asking how my kids and myself are doing when emergencies pop up and checking in with how my cancer treatment has been going. There are organizations that do what they need to do get the job done, and then there are organizations that go above and beyond to really make sure that the people they are serving are getting more than just their basic needs met. District 10 is one of those organizations that truly care about the entire well being of their clients and always offered referrals to community resources when I had something come up just to make my family's lives better. I cannot thank them enough for all service and support they have provided over the years and are continuing to provide half a decade since I made that first call."
"Tried calling multiple times... No answer, and apparently people over there don't delete their messages because you can't leave a message even... "Sorry, mailbox is full... Goodbye"... Exactly what you want to hear when your looking for help. Edit/update/response: Thank you for quickly reaching out, I've heard so many good things that I was really hoping this wasn't the norm. I will contact that number! Thank you again"
"After being run through mill as a single mom, tied up by an abusive ex in an ongoing court battle of his doing, and turning to SO many for help, this the most dedicated, knowledgeable help I’ve received in 5 years. Thank goodness for people like this."
"District 10 Pro Bono has been a consistent and abiding advocate for justice and force for good in southern Indiana for over a decade. D10 helps connect persons who need legal services but cannot afford an attorney with local attorneys willing to take cases on a pro bono basis. The attorneys and staff with the project have helped countless Hoosiers facing desperate situations involving eviction, domestic violence, and other crises. Every day they go above and beyond to ensure that people in desperate or dangerous situations don't have to face the legal process or go into the courtroom alone. And their revolutionary Counsel In the Court walk-in legal clinic program allows Hoosiers across half a dozen counties the opportunity to sit down and get advice from an attorney at no charge, an opportunity that is otherwise out of reach for many Hoosiers in Southern Indiana. Our community is very fortunate to have them, as the many hundreds of people they have helped over the years can attest. I cannot recommend them highly enough."
