"This is my experience at UPS. I worked here for two years. I’m 24 years old, and most of the supervisors I had were younger than me. That’s not really a problem but it can be. Above the supervisors are the “full time supervisors” and I went through a total of 4 of them during my time. One of them was just completely rude, all the time no matter what. So first, if you have any paperwork that you need filled out for anything, medical or government wise, they make it incredibly hard to fill out and would pass it off to other supervisors or even tell you they lost it. God forbid your life changes in a year. I was pregnant before I left. They are allowed to find or create a job for you to “accommodate” your pregnancy. They gave me a job stacking totes on a horrible belt and I swear they did it out of retaliation because the day before that, I filed a grievance against the full timer supervisor. I made them pay for my maternity leave but it was so difficult. So you will not get FMLA leave unless you’ve put in so much time. I was there for a year and half and was still getting disapproved for FMLA during my pregnancy. I cannot even begin to explain how hard the process was to get them to pay my maternity leave, because UPS doesn’t pay for it . It’s “Teamcare” which is their insurance. But they want to know your whole life story to get any claim approved. I didn’t get my first maternity check until being out of work for almost two months and a month after having my baby. The conditions are very rough. In the summer it gets over 100 degrees. The place is filthy too, they don’t clean anything. Every night when I got off work I would literally be blowing black stuff out of my nose, which I’m assuming to be dust. Also they’ll make anyone a supervisor even with no experience. I’ve seen so many incompetent managers I’m just so shocked anyone promoted them. There’s so much more I want to say. But don’t come in here without a plan. I can’t even imagine how the people who worked here for years and years really committed to this place. It’s miserable and depressing, the work is hard. I wouldn’t even let them pay for my college because I didn’t want to be stuck there if I was ready to quit. The union don’t really care about you either! All the entities associated with UPS are all in cahoots with each other. The union will protect you if you have terrible attendance, but if you get hurt or something they’re going to make it difficult to get an approving claim to take a paid leave from work. I will say the only thing I enjoyed/miss was the people I work with, and out of all 4 full timer supervisors only 1 of them actually had respect and did her job right. Your loyalty means nothing to this place, and if you let it; it will chew you up and spit you out!"
"They don't care about you what so ever which is to be expected and will dispose of you if anything comes up that does not benefit them for example my doctor told me not to go in for two weeks I have a notice and everything still had all my stuff deactivated and had to get reactivated in three separate occasions because of it and even though we will fire you without notice you better give a two week notice no matter what or you will be blacklisted. Lastly don't expect raises unless you get lucky with the union finally doing their dam job getting employees raises and yes the conditions are absolutely terrible just as many other of the reviews here have noted so really would be better off working somewhere else not like the pay they are offering is all that hard to come by and with easier work and conditions."
"PEOPLE NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE TERRIBLE CONDITIONS THEY HAVE THEIR WORKERS IN. This is the worst place I have ever worked at! I have gotten injured here, sick, harassed, and just treated extremely unfairly. The working conditions are unbearable. We don’t get the breaks we’re supposed to get. I’ve had seven hour shifts where I’ll only get a 10 minute break- off the clock. All of the management is extremely young and they only are nice to their friends. And the higher up supervisors don’t do their job correctly either. One time I had a concussion and they expected me to get into an Uber at 2 AM to “their” urgent care. I am extremely disappointed with my experience here."
"As a UPS corporation employee it was my first visit to World Port. This facility is humongous and state of the art. We took night tour and it was worth it."
